I don't know how old he was when these songs were recorded but he's got a brilliant voice!

he was 81, closer to 82. he would die a month after his 86th birthday. beautiful voice and a sharp mind to remember all those tunes.

I wasn't familiar with Sam Chatmon however once I saw his face, I knew this was going to be good. You can just tell by looking at him that he has lived life and has some amazing stories to tell through song. Good stuff right here!

That saying is not "Charley's". Shake It Don't Break It is black American vernacular that can still be heard today in Southern Hip Hop.
