Friends who are *BOTH* platonic, over time often get together and stay in long lasting relationships. Indifference can lead to attraction. Juxtaposition and contrast can lead to attraction. There can be hibernated attraction. They were written as so volatile (sometimes making out, but frequently arguing over nothing), but I liked when they could just do little things, like Sam leaning on his shoulder while Freddie's on a computer. I always imagined them as being "Same Seddie, but with fewer insults exchanged for more hand holding and cuddling." I didn't like how that plot thread was furthered and resolved, even if they may be good as sometimes snarky friends. Not every TV relationship needs drama to overcome just to be enjoyed on screen.
