At first I tried to give his supporters the benefit of the doubt, that they just don't care cuz its lies about things they don't think are important; but even when he lie about things that are important, or at least should be important (like voter fraud, etc), they still don't seem to care. I feel as though I know Trump. I used to work with a guy selling manufactured homes. He was much better at it than me - always #1 because he never bothered to learn the facts, and never cared about the customer's long term satisfaction. For example, most of our model homes had 3/4 inch thick solid oak cabinet doors, but under "oak cabinets" on the order forms was also the cheap 1/4 in thick plywood with a plastic oak veneer. And he would tell customers that they were getting "Oak cabinetry" and order the cheap plastic. He would fail to order the same windows that they saw, or the nice carpet, or even water shut off valves (which were an option). And the worst part is that I do not know to this day that he knew how dishonest he was being. Larry was a nice guy, and a clueless bastard (I think) that I spent years cleaning up after - because my boss would not let me fire him. But Larry's father was a cop - not a multi-millionaire. I suspect that he could have BEEN Trump under the right circumstances.

Why do people have so much trust in celebrities in spite of knowing nothing more about them? Just being famous is irrelevant. Why does no one ask "Who is this person?" like they would with any other stranger? An odd side affect of the entertainment industry. These strangers share your living room through a TV screen weekly, more often than we see most family members. As someone who doesn't watch TV I see this from the outside. To a lesser degree well known politicians are included in this group of celebrity strangers. How many people have any idea who they are voting for? Do you check their congressional voting record? Legislation and amendments written by them? Their donor base? Trump's public record in business since he's not a politician? Do you know who you are voting for? From the top of the ticket down?

I wish Sam would stay out of Politics. He clearly is stuck in the 1990s in his political theory. He should stick to his profession, Philosophy. To pretend that past politicians never lied makes me think that Sam is living in delusion land. Trump has been very successful. Obama (Harvard Grad, Masters Degree) Called ISIS something like "bush league" and yet couldn't or wouldn't get rid of them. Trump has almost done that - without a Master's degree from Harvard. The economy is booming. Unemployment as historic lows for African-Americans and Latinos - without a Masters Degree from Harvard. It seems that over-educated politicians aren't neither useful or necessary. That's really why people with Doctorate degrees in philosophy dislike about Trump. He's successful without the degrees and that in itself is a threat to people like him. He's no longer really either special or needed.
