Sam Heughan plays his character Jamie with such depth, feeling and conviction, I think every female that has seen him as Jamie throughout the globe, regardless of her age, has fallen a little bit in love with him. Over the years I v'e enjoyed many romantic films, however, never touched as much as a result of Sam's acting, Bravo to him. Also, he seems very much like Jamie in real life as well, a true diamond in the rough.

I don't know exactly why, but every time I see that scene where he says "you are tearing my guts out, Claire" is for some reason so emotional for me. It makes me was to say she definitely should be apologizing to him and the "gang." Claire doesn't seem to realize how much it took for them to rescue from that detestable Black Jack Randall. She should have definitely listened to Jamie and stayed put. Sam Heughan is the best actor of our decade and decades to follow.

Having been an ‘Outlander’ enthusiast for over five season’s, I have repeated time after time, that this Epic Series is worthy of every award there is, Especially Sam and Caitriona, who are equally as Brilliant as each other, Jamie/Sam doe’s have much more to contend with though, Especially at B.J.R. Hand’s, Sam’s Acting Skills are “Phenomenal”. The current times are all about feminism, decolonization, etnicity, subversion, crime and anti-heroes. There's no place for a role-model, a hero or a white heterossexual adult male married for life, a strong and handsome leader. And, to make things worse, Sam is a minimalist actor, more about little self-contained gestures and expressions that show amazing empathic perception and astonishing physical control. As the Golden Globes are a bit more serious, there's a chance Katrina can be nominated for the 5th time. She's just the opposite of him in all senses, and she's the chosen one by Starz, which only promotes her.

Izabel, I am very interested in your observations about Sam Heughan and would like to ask you to expand upon them or to direct me to articles that do. I am trying to understand the intense global fascination with Heughan (including my own) mostly among women. Here's what I think to be true. His portrayal of this character JAMEY FRASER is a very emotionally wide-ranging and impactful interpretation of the character created in the wildly popular time travel/ romantic fiction books . Certainly, Heughan is very good looking, but so are a lot of men on TV and a lot of men period. When you say there's "no place for a role model or a white heterosexual-adult male married for life " I'm not following because he REPRESENTS SUCH A ROLE MODEL in the portrayal of the JAMIE FRASER character. I gather you must be saying there's NO ROOM, so HE"S FILLING THAT HOLE ? On social media I observe that women the world over have become mesmerized by and magnetized to seeing him on screen . It appears as if women crave finding a devoted caring man who will take his marriage commitment very seriously and who values women who are competent in what they do-- not just ones who are great looking. James Fraser also views fatherhood as a great gift to a man and a major role in life. When people say they think Heughan should play JAMES BOND - I'm like... What!? !? Surely they don't mean the James Bond, Ian Fleming, wrote who was a womanizer and treated females as if they were play things to be toyed with and bedded. The women in the J.B. films I saw ( mostly the early ones with Sean Connery) didn't even have many lines -they were like blow up dolls ! Finally, I think another part of the enormous appeal of Sam Hueghan is that while he's clearly comfortable and appreciative of his luck, fame and fortune that booking the Outlander series has brought him, he doesn't act like he's full of himself at all. Indeed he doesn't even seem to recognize that he's an ICONIC MALE for our times... . In this regard, I was surprised to see the blended whiskey he's promoting trafficking so heavily in so many Outlander references and imagery --- Doesn't his marketing team for this whisky product realize the global cultural impact of this guy has far eclipsed Outlande ? He's his OWN BRAND now and for now.
