I mentioned that right after it happened. He should THANK GOD every night before he goes to bed that SNL fired him. Imagine how badly that would have worked out for him compared to his success now. He goes on SNL and he's just the fat, dumb guy in every skit for about 3 years. Half the cast hates him because he's not a fn automaton and they finally listen to a few of his ideas in year 4. They make a few and they're good but he quits or is let go around year 5. Except now NBC owns everything he pitched or made while at SNL. All of it. You had the idea before SNL? Doesn't matter. They own it. All for something like $180k a year. SNL stopped making stars after Wiig and Hader left. It's a dead end now. Getting fired literally saved his career but he was too young in the game to know it at the time.

What? Kyle Mooney doesn't have a monopoly on awkward delivery, and neither did Andy Kaufman, or Tim Heidecker, or any of the other people you could claim this of. Not even 10% of the sketches feature a character that even *remotely* resembles Mooney's OC. ITYSL is better and more original than any dogshit sketch comedy shows that have come and gone in the last decade. It sucks that SNL raped Mooney as an artist, but Tim Robinson is putting out genuinely creative and funny shit.
