Case and point on gentrification she thought it meant just rich white people or rather that only white people could do it. Ask her was that the case in china, Japan, Kenya as well. Then asked if she thought only white people could be rich enough to do it and then explained that she needed to forget the BS racist shit she was taught at uni and realize that its a class thing/social economic thing and assuming anyone who isn't white is poor is stupid. Nearly had her in tears and what probably stung her more is no one on the table stood up for her.

My brother had a similar experience but at his work. Hes the GM for a restaurant and this group of scholarly young men like to hangout at the restaurant where they buy just enough to avoid getting kicked out for loitering there for several hours. He happened to stop by a gas station one day and one of these future doctors recognized him and asked if he was that mean manager that discriminates against them by charging them for the extra dipping sauce they get with their food. Brother just flat out told him that any free sauce they give out comes out of his paycheck since he has to buy the sauce. Upon realizing my bro is just securing his bag they immediately came to an understanding and something clicked in their heads. Since then they quit hassling his employees about the sauce and have begun cleaning up after themselves when they leave his restaurant.

As an upcoming teacher in their advanced student teaching placement, I'm sick of being told to integrate the physical differences of my students into the ways in which I address them. These kids aren't minority-based statistics and we set them up for a life of constant unhappiness if we force it down their throats that they're disadvantaged because of the color of their skin, their gender, or their sexuality. That goes doubly for putting the thought in students' heads that it's okay to shut someone up based solely upon the fact that they belong to a majority. It furthers divides people for no fucking reason other than the fact that some people think that others deserve special treatment for the most boring and unchangeable parts of their identity.

I honestly hate teachers. I think they are the most hypocritical, egotistical and just full of shit people I've met. But "these kids be disrespectful and shit", and you force kids to follow the most absurd rules, with power tripping teaching following some a g g agenda with these stupid gay biggers in charge. I've worked a LOT of jobs in my life. I am 36, I have been everything to working in law enforcement, construction, manufacturing, worked in group homes for the retarted, to being as lowly stupid Walmart employee. The whole idea of school being this MUST have in society has to go. Look bad and tell me if school taught you anything useful? All it taught me was my disdain for the government very early on. From the prison esc style environment, to the extreme overbearing rules that have no meaning, to the teachers acting like they own you and command respect out of them. It has more rules then the prison I worked in. The one time I was SRO subbing in for another officer, I had a music teacher mad because a kid kept playing his little retarted recorder YOU gave him and then asked me to ARREST him. She screamed at me because I wouldn't I took lil bro to the SRO office and gave him a Dr pepper and let him play on his phone. I don't work public sector anymore, but our school system is a circus, and if you think making kids have good grades matters in life, teachers should change professions. My kids are 100% homeschooled. And are turning out to be articulate little fuckers. This isn't directed at you but just the system.

Generally, new teachers are forced to first teach at Title 1 (poor / ghetto) schools first. It's extraordinarily backwards. And if you try to write them up, the admin calls you racist and puts you on a shit list.

@@sureokkamerican blacks are an entire demographic of spoiled brats. I hear this a lot from African immigrants. Its a natural consequence of never having to learn accountability. No matter what happens to you, you always have your built in excuse which is repeated to you over and over, so you grow up spoiled mentally. Ironically its like an entire demographic of the stereotypical nihilist yuppy white failson from a rich family, just minus the money. No accountability. Every western country has its "original sin" it must atone for, and the entire political discourse revolves around that. One of the negatives of a society founded on christian morals is we are weak to oppression narratives. So we naturally have a demographic who is >50% parasites. You can always sense which is a real adult and which is a man-child/woman-child just off facial expression

My grandmother, before she got Alzheimer’s, was a public elementary schoolteacher in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sometimes she’d have to teach in North Tulsa, the black part of town, for semesters at a time. She said that she knew there was a limited amount of knowledge she was going to be able to get across to these black kids, so she focused all of her efforts on just teaching them how to read. She ignored the rest of the curriculum because she knew it would be wasted if these kids never learned how to read, and that all future schooling would be in vain if they didn’t gain this crucial skill first. I don’t know how any of her students turned out, and neither did she, but it seems like a good strategy, given the circumstances.

I worked with a guy who used to be a teacher in South Central LA; and it totally changed him-- if you know what i mean. Not that he was a klansmen or anything, but he had adopted an attitude much like what you describe almost exactly... which was that it there no hope in them learning anything because they couldn't even learn to read. He had a book that was part of the district's program specifically aimed at getting these kids who were already in 8th grade to learn to read finally before entering high school, and he said it didn't work.

Once I was in a class in junior year, and out school is predominantly black and Hispanic. Well I was in a not “honors” class, and the teacher I guess was aware that the common student in that room wasn’t well behaved. He started his class with “who here is about that money!?” It was both the funniest and most offensive shit said to a group of students
