If if you make the slightest effort they've said sooo many in interviews Microsoft owns the rights to Alan Wake for around a decade it was part of the exclusive deal they signed. The time is close (or perhaps is) to being up at which point the rights to the name and IP revert back to Remedy. Until then they can't do anything
