The Power of the deepest Southern Soul. Sam Moore is in his own class. Like Otis, he delivers every phrase and does not just sell the song, but delivers it. Mercy...

This performance, just wow! The best back-up band, a great singer and a really great song. It doesn't get any better than this.

Sam Moore is one of the greatest singers i've heard in my life. Had the honour to hear him sing with Sam and Dave, in my hometown in the Netherlands "Lido'' in Waalwijk. That must have been in the late 80's. There where only 90 people in the audience due to poor promotion, but these men gave it a full 100% of dedication. Pure presence of the musical spirit. What a great lesson that was to me.

I heard this on the radio & couldn't believe it - always thought it was an Elvis original. Just like you, Danny, I was finally able to get all the words. "Simple as love is - how it confused me." Great

Truthfully, I think he's muffing a lot of the lyrics here. I've never heard them before either...including on the Sam & Dave version.

Lest not forget that Stax is one of Elvis's major influences - especially Booker T. and the M.G.s! :-)

Want more info on Sam Moore? Just click my name to get into my channel, then click on my website (it's listed right under my age and country). Normally I would just post the link right here but youtube doesn't allow that lol. Later

This isn't good singing. It's great. Btw, singing like this does still exist just not on the radio or on bet MTV vh1. I sing like this and have for a while. I know others but it all starts with the roots. I'm only 32. There are no more great singers. At least not popular. Listeners are told what is great by social media. I sat in my music appreciation class today and disagreed with every students choice of a great artist. Then posed this question. We're the better than Whitney??
