I have heard so many different stories about how Five O'Clock World became The Vogues' recording that I don't know what to believe. That song and recording will live long past all of us.

I'm 69 and I remember those songs Dickie Lee, vogue's on my Sony transistor radio! Musical genius of inner drive a college of hard knocks with a vision! From dickey Lee,Ms.Gayle,The G man! The man knows music ! Allen had mentors in his start and put in his mode modeling of producing! Enjoyed behind the scene from Musician hall of Fame! J. C. Goes to the Roots of those individuals in music industry!

One of very few producers who can sit back and let musicians and the song create magic. A wise man who’s left an indelible mark on the industry.

I have studied music for over 50 years and this man is legendary for "Five O'Clock World", but especially "Ready For The Times To Get Better" by Crystal Gayle, which I consider one of the top 5 best country music songs of all-time.

As always thank you Larry… it’s the songs he’s produced that are more amazing… The Dance, Friends in Low Places, Don’t It make my Brown eyes blue, You’ve been talking in your sleep, waiting for the times to get better, if tomorrow never comes, 18 wheels and a dozen roses, where’ve you been etc…Best, Joe

Really enjoyed learning about Allen Reynolds ,Joe. Have listened to all the songs that Allen wrote numerous times without knowing he wrote each of them of course. Now I know. In regards to Dickie Lee, what i have learned is Dickie was possibly destined to be one of the first rock and rollers and Elvis came on the scene and kind of knocked Dickie out of the saddle? Allen sure seems like a heck of a nice gentleman. Good things happen to good people and he is living proof. Thanks to Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum for capturing this music history stories.

My Uncle worked with and was friends with Jack. He was the Engineer on Townes Van Zandt’s Live at the Old Houston Quarter! Also my mom was Friends with Dickey Lee! When my Dad was in the Army overseas my mom hung out with Dickey and my Uncle Earl in Beaumont Texas! That’s where Jack Clement and my Uncle met and became friends!
