The tuba was flat and the piccolo extremely sharp. What a fabulous combination. At least, unlike Carl Fischer's giant tuba, it has working valves and valve tubing.

Sam was a monster player. His albums with Pat Sheridan are the best, thor's a bit weird at times..;-) Considering the limitations of the beast he was playing, GREAT JOB on "The Elephant and the Fly!"
