As a Tennessee fan, I think Arkansas made a really good choice with this guy. It's obvious he wants to be there, which means a lot in my opinion. Most SEC games are won in the trenches and that's where future Arkansas teams will excel with this coach.

From a die hard LSU fan, when you find a coach who can be tough yet fair and still have a great love and passion for your school, your state and his players you have struck gold. Reminds me of Coach O and how much he loves this team, this university and his state. It took Coach O three years to get this program back on a winning streak. So I hope y’all will give Coach Pittman the time he needs. Wishing Coach Pittman and the Razorbacks much success.

What Coach Pittman is showing is a lot of years of self-struggle to BE a head coach if given the chance. And it shows that Arkansas is a humble school and takes it lumps for years with the hopes of one day winning more games than it loses. I believe that day has come for the school and its coach. As a Razorback class of '77, I haven't felt this way since the days of McFadden and Nutt and company. When Jones and McFadden both hit the 1,000 plus year rushing in the same year, well that hit me, too. Pride is a great motivator and 76,000 Hog fans proved that pride CAN be measured. I just knew before this game that home field would be that intangible. Go Hogs! I've got us at 8 and 4 for 2021. I could be wrong, but after that Texas stomping, I might be on target. I was born in Texas but got to Arkansas in 1973 as fast as I could.

2 Seasons later, The Pitt Boss has an overall record of 11-11, with the current season being at 8-4 against what many considered the hardest schedule in the nation. He brought home The Southwest Classic Trophy, The Golden Boot, and The Battleline Trophy all in the same year. We finished the regular season in the top 25. 3 out of 4 our losses were to top 10 ranked teams and 2 of those were by a combined score 8 points. We currently sit at #22 in the Nation, #5 In the SEC, and #3 in the SEC West....Great Job Sam! I pray we continue to grow with you at the helm!

Best of luck. It looks like a tough uphill climb. It's good to see a coach honored, happy and humble. If you told me Arkansas was his dream job, I'd believe you. Its easy to be happy in the moment with all the money being paid to HCs. But this guy just inherited the worst team in the toughest division of the toughest conference in the country.
