I mean, Sam Riley seems to joke A LOT, when you're an interviewer you should do your research and be prepared - am I interviewing someone serious? Playfull? Sarcastic? There's also an Oh My Disney interview where he's discussing the scene where Angelina Jolie saves him and turns him into a human for the first time. Apparently it was the first scene of the movie to be filmed, so on the poor guy's first day at work, he's standing there stark naked, covered in (fake) mud and dirt, while three makeup artists stood around discussing very matter-of-factly whether or not they needed to shave his arse. Poor Sam was like "I can't believe that we're having this discussion on the set of a Disney film" I DIED 🤣🤣🤣

I was working on a wire cam at pinewood studios very recently, I had burns on my arm from an incident. I got my arm patched up every day because of the sun. got in touch with the nurse one day she was on set outside, and whilst she was patching me up 2 feet away from sam Riley and Elle fanning I asked her "have you seen any fucking famous people yet because I haven't seen anyone" nurse went quiet. Okay, I get that he's a bit awkward sometimes, but that's normal. What's not normal is how awkward the interviewers are. It's their whole job to ask questions, laugh, and keep their session pretty socially relaxed overall, so when the person you're interviewing cracks a joke, especially at their own expense, you should laugh, or chuckle at the least.
