I don't if you guys realize. But when he sings the last chorus in a chest voice but is still in that same octave as the falsetto, the other mics in the room pic up his voice (you can hear it with headphones nice and clear) like he has a gift from god with the voice of angel. Fucking perfect. We need more like him

I feel Sam intended the meaning of the song to indicate that the feeling of love is ones personal nirvana. When you are around that person it is as if they make you high, but being that his love was unrequited his songs often have a hint of rejection to them. I love Sam Smith, his music made me feel like I was not alone. Every time I put my headset on and listened to his voice my sorrow would melt away as if I could almost share my burden with him. His music has become my personal release, my happy place and for that I adore him.
@allegragario36597 жыл бұрын
that's exactly how I feel! Especially this song ( and drowning shadows) makes me feel really overwhelmed. I love Sam Smith and I hate that many people bash on him without listening to him, just because he's a singer of the "new generation". He has a powerful and emotional voice, and deserves more credit

Sam Smith - Nirvana Oh baby, oh baby Oh we both know the truth If it were the real me and you This wouldn't be the right thing to do Now the room is so hazy We're too lost in the fumes I feel like it's just me and you Yeah .. we got nothing to lose It's too late to run away from it all It's too late to get away from it all I'm done with running, so I give in to you This moment has caused a reaction Resulting in our reattachment Will you take me to nirvana? I don't think this will last But you're here in my arms Oh baby, oh baby Oh we both feel the same I'm not gonna give you my name And I don't think you want that to change We're in this together We don't know who we are Even if it's moving too fast Baby, we should take it too far It's too late to run away from it all It's too late to get away from it all I'm done with running, so I give in to you This moment has caused a reaction Resulting in our reattachment Will you take me to nirvana? To me, the original is like him shouting at his lover that doesn't realise he's serious that " you take me to nirvana" and he wants him to know he'll love him forever. But this acoustic is like they have that mutual feeling and he's telling him while they're in their arms that he loves him. Two different vibes.
@18raymondking9 жыл бұрын
same here. and it's kinda like Latch; In the original(acoustic) he sounds like tht both parties are nutral and know that they are latched together, compared to his new one where it sounds like that sam is trying to force his lover to see that he refuse to let him go. It's interesting how a line like: Now i gathered you in my space, i wont let go of you. And got you shackled in my embrace ..." can mean two diffrent things when they are sung differently

Yes, it's official today...I've decided I like the acoustic version better. I think it's the breaths he takes in the middle of the first line of each verse.

This song, as well as "Latch" are my favorites.... I have never heard someone sing with such pure, raw emotion... You can literally feel what he felt when he was writing these songs... obsessed!

I haven't been moved by a voice this way since I first heard Freddy Mercury. Seriously Sam doesn't even sing a genre that typically appeals to me but he is so good that it draws me in. What an incredible talent and judging by the views he accumulates, there is still hope for the music industry after all. This dude sells his voice and nothing else unlike so many of the female pop artists who sell sex to get views and make money. God bless you Sam.

What I love most about him is I really don't even think he knows how incredible he truly is. He has everything a true artist should have. THIS is music.

This song literally describes those who are in a 'forbidden love', which myself and my partner are in right now, especially from her perspective. This song hits me right in the feels whenever I listen to it, every second of it. I love her so much.

This song touches the very deep of my heart. Tears start coming off whenever I listened to his songs. Fell in love with my best friend but I can never confess to him. For if I were to do so everything would never be the same anymore, because I couldn't risk losing him in my life, even as a friend.

He is one of few artists that can create such powerful songs that only last 3-4 minutes...it's like he has so much passion, hurt, and happiness that he gets right into it from the beginning of the song and it only gets better as the song continues...he truly is an amazing artist

This song isn't about the band Nirvana! Nirvana is a place of perfect peace and happiness, like heaven. ... state that someone can attain, a state of enlightenment, meaning a person's individual desires and suffering go away.
