Lets not talk about the theatre industry. When you have shady studios like Warner Bros making decisions without the consent of the creatives. So Warner Bros decided to release their whole theatrical slate of 17 movies. Thus not letting any of the directors know except for Patty Jenkins and Gal. And they where the only ones to get paid their money. All this because HBO max has to use these theatrical releases to push their trash streaming service. It also DOES NOT make sense to have small business shutdown while large ones are open.. More foot traffic more chance of covid.. However, even Germany, which started the Covid response with a full lockdown and then remained too open for too long, has now been put back in full lockdown. This has been an awful year. My own feelings about politics aside, WE have to take a certain level of personal responsibility for how this is going. The directions were “don’t gather in large groups, don’t travel, wear masks” but once the cases started going down we threw those directions out the window. I know many people who had/are having parties, traveling for holidays, and still don’t wear masks. To each their own, I get it. You have to do what you have to do. But our actions still have consequences, numbers went way back up, and sadly these businesses have paid the price again. Not because “Gavin is a communist,” but because WE made the choice to throw caution to the wind.

it's not a punishment....it's PREVENTATIVE, something no one has understood since the beginning of this pandemic. you take actions before it gets out of control, instead of waiting until it is as bad as LA. even if your restaurant is doing the right thing, if people are not strictly following guidelines all day, everyday, the numbers will continue to go up. the u.s. does not understand how to work together because there is no sense of community, it's individualistic so every person chooses how much or how little of the regulations they want to follow without any consequences.
