Mike Douglas looked and seemed just as Square as he could be, but he had some of the greatest rock acts on his show! I wish she had thought the higher Paul Revere and the Raiders. Howdy from Dallas Texas

According to IMDb, The Raiders were on Feb. 18, 1966. Allen and Rossi co-host. Guests are rock band Paul Revere and the Raiders; actress Jayne Mansfield; columnist Earl Wilson and his son; UFO expert Maj. Donald Keyhoe; and Jeff Tarr, a Harvard student who operates a computer dating service.

Wow I’m really glad the studio is available Sam the sham seems like a real nice man he seem like he’s very very humble and this is really historical to see the band play live that’s why I love videos like this but I have a question how come is the drummer standing up playing the drums because there’s no other band where the drummer stood up all the time the band was called McCoys and they had a big hit with the song called hang on Sloopy but that Drummer was allays standing up too

Not true - Maureen Tucker of The Velvet Underground among others played standing up. As did many of the rockabilly drummers.

who's Mike Douglas's other guest? Vic? ANyone know the whole names of the band. Met Sam way back in '73 when he sat in with us at the Whiskey A GoGo and reluctantly sang Wooly Bully, he was tired of performing that song back then, he wanted and was doing more serious music. He's playing a Farfisa organ which was my first organ before jumping over to a Vox then of course a Hammond B3. BTW, my band was Frank Zappa's Ruben and the Jets.

The other guest is Vic Damone. Sam's band members here were Ray Stinnet, guitar; Dave Martin, bass; Jerry Patterson, drums; and saxophonist Butch Gibson. So, John, you were in Ruben & The Jets? VERY COOL! Not sure if you ever worked with my dad's cousin, Del Casher? He worked with Frank for a short time.

Thanks for the info, thought it was Damone but wasn’t sure. No, never met your dads cousin- except for Jim Motörhead Sherwood- no other mothers were in the band which was a side project of Frank’s
