when i wrote this song, i always knew if i released it, i’d have to make the video special. so, with my dad’s permission and blessing i was able to tell his story and play him in this incredible music video/short film directed by the brilliant philip barantini. this was obviously terrifying for many reasons, but mainly because i didn’t wanna mess it up. thankfully, i’ve never been more proud of something in my life and the video came out just how i envisioned it. i hope you guys take the time to watch this because i really do think it’s special. being able to play my father and walk you guys through one of his darkest moments is an honour and made me feel even closer to him. i’m so glad he’s still with us and was able to watch the video and give me his blessing. he absolutely loves it as much as i do and we both along with the incredible team who helped this vision come to life, hope more than anything that you do too. hero. the song. the music video. the short film. the distant, but core memory.

My wife and I had my son just 7 months before I lost my dad during the pandemic to CJD. Still think about him all the time. Wish we could’ve spent more time together. Wish I could’ve told him the things I kept buried deep down. I always felt like I’d get around to it. I always wanted to say it perfectly. And I never did it in time. I hope he knew how much I loved him and that I always wanted to make him proud of me. I wish I got to hear that he was proud of me. This tribute to your dad makes me feel so happy that your dad got to hear that he’s your hero. I hope everyone listening to this song reminds themself to tell their loved ones what they mean to them. Because the thing that’s much worse than that discomfort or pain is regret.

That was so emotive - I've been at breaking point / suicidal many times, and my Dad committed suicide when I was 11 and his leaving me that way affected me for many, many years in both obvious and more subtle ways. I hope your song can reach someone/or some people who are contemplating making a permanent decision on a temporary feeling and get them to pause long enough that they can pull themselves back from that fine line crossing to eternity
