This music and the beauty of the words is amazing. I came to find out about this music through a friend of mine who sang 'Stand Ten Feet Away From Me' at an event. I found the song so profound I had to seek out the original. As much as I loved my friend's rendition, I was simply not prepared by how much the original version would make an impact on me. Now of course I want to know more, and desire to support the uniqueness and intelligence of the performer's art. Minds like this come along very rarely. I love the honesty of it and also the humility that seems to soften the pain of the edges. Wonderful, wonderful work. Where this performer will be in twenty years is very hard to comprehend, considering he is so talented now.

I think what you are reacting to is the fact that his work is really a great deal more intelligently crafted and meaningful than the great majority of meaningless stuff that is out there. I don't mean to be critical, but sometimes I listen to music; its repetitive nature and embarrassingly mundane lyrics and I feel sad at the lack of beauty. This work however, strikes us deeply because it flips that sadness on its head and shows us that some things are really worth singing about. Good on you however for opening yourself up to be deeply moved. :) That says a lot about the good person you must be.
