My best friend grew up with a mentally disabled older brother and when I was younger I didn't really understand how to behave infront of him because he was older and it took me a while to understand that he will always stay in the mind of a five year old but his body will grow. She always had his back even when I was like 8yo and said that he is weird she told me okay then we dont have to be friends but he's my brother and I love him for who he is. It took me a while to get used to him and I now volenteer with people with all sorts of disabilities mostly because I learned that every one was diffrent at a young age and I am thankfull for that.
