My Great Grandfather was Mastero in Saamaveda He used to Shiva panchaayutana Puja in Saamam itself. We are Samavedis, Bharadwaj Gotram. I was unlucky that I could not get a chance for learning Saamaveda.

🙏🏻 we are yajurvedi atreya gotram krishna yajurvedis... My great grandfather got a reward from the Mysore king for saying vedam... very fortunate to have learnt some of the Yajurveda from a guru... I was wondering how samaveda sounded so I came here, nice to see other people interested in it :)

Bruhatsaam is belonging to bhagwad gita 10, 34 but need to understand about SAAM... Bruhat means bigger and samam is 8f not saamb than the arises question and finding answer... why there is no sanskrit or less sanskrit in samveda purushasuktam comapred to yajurveda purusha suktam?

In sama veda purusha suktam, we have fewer mantras than the one found in Rig. It has 9 sections. The first 3 sections are unrelated to the purusha suktam that we hear from Rig. But we do have the 4th section starting with "sahasrasheersha purushah" even here. Sections 4-5-6-7-8 contain an abridged version of the Rig Purusha Sukta. Only certain mantras are taken. Even in these sections, the introduction and end have the sama-veda frills. But the middle part has the rig mantras (in a different tune) in sections 4-5-6-7-8. Section 9 is again totally different and sama-veda specific. Generally, we can say, sama-veda purusha suktam is an abridged version from the Rig. It's just that the sama-veda frills like haav-haav au-ho-va etc...dominate the sections so much...that it is tough to "catch" the rig veda verses though they are present!

Infact none of the vedas are presented to us in Sanskrit, they're all present in the Vaidheeka Bhasha, which sounds similar to Sanskirt but has greater significance for rhythm and articulation. Even Samavedam is present in the same format as other vedas, but being Samam, the musical nature of it makes it difficult for us to recognize that! Adiyen
