My mom had a tough childhood and being the eldest among her siblings she became the man of the house at an early age of 18 by getting a govt job via SSC examination, Soon she was married to my father and being a part of an Indian family where she wasn't supported much she had to quit her job after my brother was born.... Growing up I've always seen my mother as an abundance of talent that never saw light of the day but she put all of that talent in raising her 2 sons and we dominated our school and adult life in college because of early grooming and mentorship of soft as well as hard working skills. My mom now teaches underprivileged kids and also writes books and set exam papers for IGNOU an open university in India. An educated women will not only help a family financially but also an educated house maker is equally an asset to a family. Women education is more important than a man being educated in my opinion. My soon-to-be husband who had been divorced and had been taken to the cleaners by his ex-wife and was penniless, and who also came from a very different family to my own was told by his family that I wasn’t good enough for him and he could do better than me!!! Lol! To call them ulloo ke patteh is an Insult to both ulloo and patteh! Alhamdulillah my husband had a heart of gold which is what I fell in love with him for, ignored them all and we got married. Alhamdulillah my husband takes pride in the fact that I’m a Dr. His family looks the other way when he calls me Dr Begum in front of them.

Thank you for raising such an important topic, it's very important for women to be educated in today's time.we are five sisters and 2 brothers,my parents have been very supportive towards all of us,infact encouraged us to study nd made sure that their daughters not only studied but workd too. All of us sisters are working professionals including my brothers of course,four of them are married and none got married before the age of 28.My parents would hope that their daughters "settled down" when they reached the age of 25(yes the word settled needs to be highlighted bcz apparently no matter how successful you are,you aren't settled unless you are married)but never forced us.when my elder brother wanted to get married the only thing they cared about was, the girl should be educated and should be working. My parents didn't come from much,they were the only educated ones among their respective siblings.Hence they understood the importance of education. I come from one of the Tribal groups in India,and growing up we had no role models around except for my parents so they had to work extra hard on us,bcz we lived in a village and ppl didn't really care much about education,today my family is like a success story in my community.And I can proudly say that they look up to us. My parents could only support our education because they both worked, they were government teachers in a village next to ours, they have retired now and live a very peaceful and satisfied life knowing that they have raised their daughters to be strong independent individuals. Also want to mention my mom got married in her late twenties,she earned more than my dad did all her life, when they got retired my mom got retired as a principal but dad got retired as a teacher so even today, they both get pension from the government of India,but my mom gets almost double the amount than what my dad does. So yea strong educated women raise strong educated children. Thanks once again, Great admirer of your work, A lot of love from Delhi India.

Junaid bhai, thank you for talking about this topic and since I can (like many) relate to this I have some opinions/comments: 1. a boy observes his mother being submissive then why does he want to have same kind of partner. I am not at all saying the mother was wrong (it was her destiny/circumstances) but why does the boy have to repeat it? 2. I chose to have an educated wife. Because our culture (irrespective of religion) invests more in a son than the daughter, I was fortunate to receive this investment but I also know that my parents couldn’t afford similar education for my sis. But I feel for her loss. I tried to give her what she deserved when I became able, but because her mindset was already set as society’s upbringing, I failed. I won’t say ‘she’ failed but I failed. 3. When you spoke about the % male female and then drilled down, also note religious and sect divisions. The ratio will be less than a 1% 4. A Couple could be childless or choose to not have a child, these are two different things, but our society begins asking questions after a year of marriage. (Happens with us)! 5. Because what I observed in my upbringing that the women is the ‘bali ki bakri’ I try to support female education I can go on and on but thanks for talking about this. Our society needs it. Each drop makes a dent in a rock, someday things will change

It is extremely important for women to be educated. Education plays a huge role when it comes to dealing with ups and downs in life espacially in case of women. Unfortunately it also has a downside, Some women think doing house chores or taking care of husband is a bad thing, which is totally wrong. Its totally fine if she has no issue in taking care of her home and her family.

Kyuki agar app earn kr rhe ho toh ghr ke kam toh maids bhi kr leti hai ,bss hath mein income honi chaiye. My cousin brother is in Google at a package 57 lakhs inr. My bhabhi is a surgeon in a private hospital she earns around 40 lakhs inr. At the time of marriage my brother was earning around 22 lakhs per annum and my bhabhi was earning just 8 lakhs. But she kept on studying further with family support. And in future she will surpass my brother. Agr iss talent se sirf ghr mein khana banwate toh . 30 saal bad bhi khaana hee banwate rehte.

Agree to all the points you jave mentioned above! In my comment i would rather talk about men who face problems halfway same as women! Mardon ko b baar baar ziada kamanay ki tajwez di jati hai ye bataya jata hai k kal ko koi beeti nahi dega etc etc. Masla yahan ye hain chahy aurat ho ya mard uspar zimidari thoopi jarahi hai bijaye samjhanay say! Larki agar parh b lay to zabardasti kitchen k kaam sikhaye jatay hain ussay ehsaas dilaya jata hai k beta apki jaga he yahi hai that is why most of the girls start hating homes and want to work outside to prove themselves. Same like that ghr par behtay huay mardon ko sunaya jata hai hatta k uska koi buisness b hona jo ghr beth k hosakay usko zabardasti bahir bheja jata hai, nokri karo kama k do, sahara bano etc etc! Jidki waja say woh b baaz okat kaam nahi karna pasand kartay! Also mardon ko amuman ghr main pani ka glass b nahi uthanay dia jata! Rather then pushing people to gender roles if we focus on the balance baat alaw ban jayegi

Following are the qoutes from Stoic philosopher marcus aurelius: 1) It never ceases to amaze me: we all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinions than our own. 2) The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane. 3) You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength. 4) Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth. 5) If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment. 6)The best revenge is to be unlike him who performed the injury. 7) Whenever you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question: What fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize? Ponder at these qoutes. I also suggest stoicism for our Pakistanis.
@arsalrehman28914 жыл бұрын
Working on these principles of Stoicism is the only solution for all our problems. Unfortunately, In an Islamic country like Pakistan we can't see people working on these principles.

Have a look at the 2 sides of the same mirror: The point of topic is educated females, who are unable to get married. Firstly, some people are confusing intellect with education. Intellect has a much broader horizon and getting higher education is one part of it. Please don't confuse that people who are educated must also be intellectual as well. Nope, you're mistaken. Education can't give you an intellectual mind, but an intellectual mind can make you well-educated. Unfortunately, many educated wives in our society are not intellectual, which is where many problems arise after they get married. Same goes for educated men too. (Read more about what intellect is before you comment). Secondly, he just pointed out the things in one direction. The reality is that many educated girls want things to be dealt with without any sort of understanding and sometimes want their decisions to be superimposed on many occasions without having the consent of their husbands, which is the root cause of many issues. We need to change the concept of how we think of what an educated wife is. Being an educated wife means now you're well-equipped with all those tools that are imperative for your family to become a more civilised one. You are better equipped with every skill that can make your family stand out amongst other when it comes to a progressive family with equal rights to husband, wife and children. Being an educated wife means now you're well-equipped with the real techniques to handle MENTAL STRESS (which is more strenuous than PHYSICAL STRESS) of your husband and children and now you're in a position to give valuable suggestions to your partner to deal with tough situations. If you are educated and you have other plans than the ones mentioned above, then sorry to say you're not here to form and nurture good family but to superimpose your decisions and doing things on your own without the consent of your husband or even your children if they are grown ups. In our society, if educated wife knows how to deal with the harsh situations being in a marriage then she is the best choice of many potential husbands. But unfortunately, they haven't understood the meaning of what an educated wife means for a family. P.S. There are many educated wives, who are doing their best and fulfilling their duties. My criticism is for the one who are educated, ready for marriage but don't have any flexibility or want to face the harsh reality when it comes to a married life.

so every woman has no aim besides bearing children and being a home maker??? are we in the 1800's again? giving autonomy to your wife is something that should be practiced. If in scenarios, women mostly should have the approval of their partner but their decisions shouldn't be up for allowance there's a very fine line there. Second mostly aap maan lein ye baat ke parhi likhi larkiyan isi liye nahi bahu banayi jati kyun ke apke maushre mein jahalat hay aur unke opinion yehi hay ke agar parhi likhi hay tou apni zubaan chalayegi. that is the reality isnt it? You cant just deny arrogance that's within your nation.

Really good message for our families, our communities to make their children strong, decision makers, responsible and above all righteous. They should be strong enough to say no, and stand against something they know is right/ wrong.my husband has always said and practically proved the things you said in this podcast, he always stood up for me and my sister in law in front of everyone, he argued with my in-laws for right and wrong and always empowered us. My father is the same. He believed in us siblings and my mom.

DISCUSSION TIME Hi, Faheem Here & I have a perspective to share in this Regard.. While many people believe that women who are arranged to marry have the trouble with pairing, the truth is that men also struggle and deal with rejection. Two year’s ago my parents started to look at proposals for me. I got very strange refusals such as these: Different social class, not enough income, not good looking enough, the family is too big can’t give the daughter away, or not an owner of enough property. I understand the option of choice, but being more attracted to material wealth is driving many to reject and often men don’t marry until the late 20’s and up. I feel it is unfair to remain alone because I do not possess great wealth. I am 29 and in business, so it’s not like I've nothing,I'm well enough but for now I await my perfect pairing.

Agreed💯 society pressurized people to avoid studies and do marriage first. Prhai tu hoti rahegi", and for boys shadi krdo iski set khudi hojayega and after marriage society forgets after the next day of wedding and then the couple life become hell.

Our teacher once asked us to describe our ideal wife. When we were done describing he said, "what you told is a description of a fashion model and not a wife". He then asked us to change our perspective. He said find a partner who is more likely to be a good mother to your children. I felt pretty ashamed that I didn't fulfill the ideals of being a good father. It struck me so hard that I had to remodel myself. Whenever I think of ideal wife my thoughts also go towards me becoming an ideal husband and a father. It keeps me motivated to stay positive. P.S Communication has never been my strength, so forgive me if my message seems confusing to you.

I think we should promote the idea for financial independent women and men who do there house chorus themselves, so that people don't marry because they depend on some one for there needs. instead they should marry cause they love the person they are choosing.
@Hikapika64 жыл бұрын
I agree
@asadalisheikh1104 жыл бұрын
The solution lies in the fact that boys should go for girls of older age as well as those who are widows and divorcees. This could be a win win situation for both and can solve lot of social and financial problems. Girls and boys compromise only when they lack something. And combination of lacking and blessing on two sides can create better and strong relationship.

Waa this one hit pretty close to home. Growing up I have never seen a non toxic married relationship in my surroundings. I don't know if the people who are in it themselves reckon it as toxic or not. So I have a lot of problem with lots of things and it gets more shocking once I start talking to people that it's wrong. No one gets it. It's so weird.
