A lovely offering. Thank you, Jayasara. Thank you, Thay. Also, while listening, my soft gaze noticed the view count go up here and there. It was a wonderful feeling reflecting on how each tick of the count means that another person was joining me in watering the seeds of wisdom. 🙏💚

I heard an angle and she said: Sit with me. Please calm down my friend. When a lamp is turned on the lamp itself is also brought to light I know that I know I am conscious of being conscious. it enables the self to illuminate the self. It lights not only all thoughts and feelings present it lights itself as well the river of our perceptions continues to flow but now in the sunlight of awareness it flows peacefully and we are serene

I loved this since we usually think of meditation as mental silence and stillness. I loved the "putting away the sharp sword of conceptual thinking" and the part about the "two selves" and good and bad. We are always trying to cut things up and label them good and bad. Many things are paradoxes where both are true, both are valid and both are false from another perspective. "The light and color are not separate phenomena. The "sun of self" and "the river of self" are not different. These are wonderfully apt analogies. Experience is a natural manifestation of awareness. Awareness wouldn't be aware of itself without the perceptions.

Why does Patanjali say "the skill of yoga is demonstrated by the conscious non-operation of the vibrational modes of the mento-emotional energy" If there is no need to be without thought? I seem to be struggling with the different teachings, one like papaji saying to bring an end to thinking. The other, like this teaching, saying it is not necessary to bring thought to an end. Please help if you can. 🙏❤️

The discursive thinking process will come to a natural end or cessation when spiritual maturity is ripe and there is enough purity of mind/heart (sila), samadhi and wisdom. But there is no 'one', independent entity, that makes this happen. Thay is primarily addressing the beginner or 'average' person here who tends to go into battle with their thoughts, seeing them as the enemy, and attempts to use control or coercion, thus showing a lack of understanding and wisdom about the empty nature of thoughts themselves. When the emptiness of all phenomena is directly perceived, including thoughts, and letting go happens, then wisdom goes to work and thoughts naturally subside into quiescence in the deep meditative state. However, thoughts are necessary to function practically in the world even for the jnani or enlightened one, but the nature of them is very different compared to an ordinary person, and there is no deluded identification with them.
