Should we not desire appropriate home 🏠 to live in I’m sharing currently and people are sweet but they drink and take drugs sometimes all day long and it’s winter now doors are open and it’s so cold 🥶 I don’t know if it’s better to stay or go 🏠🌸🙏🏻
@SamaneriJayasara4 жыл бұрын
I think this is a case where your so-called "desire" is really wisdom and discernment - not just slavish desires to fulfill sensual pleasures. Follow your heart and wisdom here - it knows what to do and what is the right way. Not all desires are bad as Maharaj says. Desire for peace, happiness, liberation, truth, good health and well being are wholesome desires. The trick is not to get devastated if they don't all manifest exactly as we want, when we want, etc... Then they are desires with bondage and attachment. All the very best with your current situation - may the right conditions manifest for you soon to support your practice, health and well being.

I always think these advaita guys make it all sound much easier than it is. It was easy for them because they were gifted their realisation but for the common man or woman it is far far more difficult to realise Truth.
@zootsoot20064 жыл бұрын
That being said, such enlightened sages as Sri Nisargadatta don't need to justify themselves to us. Their words are all we can hope for.
@ryanbuena9594 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, you will realize it at some point and there is nothing you can do but flow with it. Circumstances will wake you up.
@otterrivers37654 жыл бұрын
Zoot, that is a common argument but all these enlightened masters were once unenlightened too. Look at any of their stories. Most of them had all the regular everyday problems most of us experience.. some of them had it much worse than you or i. In the case of Nisargadatta, he tells us he was not originally interested in spirituality until he met his guru. Then, he says, he just listened to his guru and focused all his free time in self inquiry. Even then it took him three years. I don't think it's fair to say they make it sound easier than it is. Then paradox is, it may take someone years of effort to realize no effort was needed. And yet, upon that realization you find that you really never were unenlightened and that no distance was traveled. And you may try to explain this, and people may say you make it sound easier than it is.

Practicing Buddhism as I understand it doesn't preclude one from exploring and learning from other sources of wisdom the way that Judeo-Christian religions usually do. I'm sure there are exceptions. But generally speaking, I find that eastern religions have less taboos about exploring and learning from other religious/philosophical sources. Just my 2¢. ...I know nobody asked my opinion.... but..... 😜😇
@dougietabla59483 жыл бұрын
@@otterrivers3765 Quite true. Eastern religions have reached a maturity that does not permit them to feel threatened. Their goal is simply the ‘Truth’. Other religious traditions, however, feel the need to ‘control’ and therefore are suspicious when this may be usurped.
