The opening number peeled paint off my wall. I have never heard a cigar box guitar sound that raw and loud and good! Her voice is as good as her guitar playing. recently saw an interview with her, and she said she "has to" play the cigar box guitar at every show as everybody is always calling for it. It really is just one of the best mean raw guitar sounds out there and she's picked songs that really work with it. She picked it up at a blues festival from a guy that just had them sitting on a table for sale. I dunno how she keeps that little wood box playing with all the use it gets.

Saw in St Louis last week, The Atomic Cowboy. You have to see this act live..incredible. She has added keyboards, brass and it is a very tight group. She is a headliner....catch her in the 2019 festival season. J

Excellent audio on the vocals. datflys did a great job on this. Ms. Fish is already known as a fine guitar player, but she's also a great songwriter and captivating singer. Most of her videos are underbalanced on the vocals.

So, as I sit here in Ohio in January this reminds me that there will be warm days again. Will be seeing her band twice in two days next week. I can appreciate the John Hiatt influence but I hope she is over most of the chills and fever and back to some of her old school self for these upcoming shows. We'll see.
