I'm 70 years old and have been a blues fan for most of my life. Being a blues fan does not close the door on genres of music for me. Although this song may not be classified as a blues song to many of you, I feel it made the cut. I have been following this talented young lady for some time now and this song only shows me the flexibility she has to offer us. Over the years I have seen many many "Big Stars" do covers of blues songs away from their popular field of music and do fantastic jobs at it. Just because someone strays does not mean they are abandoning their fans. I grew up listening to all genres of music and still do. If a person will only do the same they will discover that each one has an influence on the other. Blues has had the greatest influence of all on the others. I'm rambling on now. All I'm saying is let this young lady spread her wings as far as she can and I will bet that everyone will be satisfied.

Ken Nowlin: I saw Samantha at the Palladium last week in St Pete, FL. This was the first gig with her new, six piece band, and her opening of the 'Chills & Fever" tour. I was a little taken aback by the changes, and I was not familiar with the new album. But, old Sam pulled it off. They played every song on the new album, and a few from the "Runaway" and "Wild Heart" era. I have always thought there was something "Rory Gallagherish" about her, which is to say she'll often begin a song almost quietly, and she gets a "fierce" look on her face, and she suddenly becomes a blues guitar demon. She still tears it up, with the best of them. I am hoping, and I don't think she will, make a "pop" crossover, and start sounding like "all the other ones".

I just discovered this amazing lady and feel quite smug about it, haha! I am 70. I grew up in California and was lucky enough to know some of the great rock legends who have since passed on. Sam could definitely hold her own with any of them. I am a singer and she is definitely a singer's singer. She is quite versatile. And of course then there is her amazing guitar... oh my YEAH.

So when I watched this today the ad afterwards was for Carlos Santana's Masterclass. I usually skip ads, and I have no intention of signing up for whatever the ad is selling, but I was willing to let the ad play and listen to Carlos Santana talk about playing guitar. At one point he mentions the importance of "guitar face" to musicianship, and I thought that was relevant to Samantha. She is never afraid to make whatever facial expression is necessary to bend the string to exactly the right place, which is a critical part of all guitar playing but especially the blues.

Only a small matter of time when she will be recognized largely worldwide thanks to fans like us. Yes she is a blues"man". She is spreading, songs band compliment, equipment,sounds. Notice her engineering in set ups. Pedals,amps,guitar array and tuning. This girl is for real. Other female guitarists out there but usually a novelty. although as usual, she is awesome, they should make her videos always with her doing a band performance. there is nothing like watching samantha fish doing a song on stage. she is mesmerizing and these other kind of videos dont even begin to convey the heart she puts into a song, or tune. she is not Brittney spears type, she is samantha fish and omitting her stage presence is like taking val kilmer out of the movie "tombstone"
