This was Sam's second biggest win of her career. Not many have beaten Henin at Roland Garros. Her biggest win yet is her US Open victory vs Serena. Pretty spectacular resume to beat the two best players of that generation.

Even though Sam did beat the two ultimate best players of that generation .. she was catching henin off her former best self.. henin wasn’t the player she was in her peak.. Serena was pretty much within herself though .. so you could say they were super wins ..

@@mono0288 Don't underestimate Schiavone. She was smarter than both Henin and Serena to find the right way to approach such a challange. Stosur was the clear favourite but Francesca is not a bad player at all and she had everything she needed to win that one.

UP to 26, she was a double player. She was humble, and I loved that. Very feminine. And brillant, you're right. She made a lot of great matches in Roland: won, or lost. She built her fan club there.

Lu Lu Would you say it’s better than Graf’s forehand ? A match between Graf and Stosur on clay would be very interesting. Two amazing forehands, but wildly different techniques.

@@pyro9818 I'd give Graf the clear edge in that one, in part because her slice sets up her forehand so well. Stosur's slice doesn't seem to consistently give her a crack at the big shot. It would be an interesting match, though.

I miss SLAMantha Stosur. I really thought she was going to usher in a change to the womens game with all the spin and kick, but it wasn't meant to be... I was so mad she beat young Halep, Serena, Henin, and even Jelena Jankovic only to flop out to Schiavone in the final here.

Both JJ and Dementieva's last chance of winning a slam but both came undone in the SF. Had Dementieva continue playing till 2013-14 I think she would have won 1 slam at least.

@@khv6748 Because I CAN! And how is she abused? She doesn't even read here and all I want to do is to annoy her ex-fans. It's a great thing she is retired, she was the worst number 1 that ever existed in women's tennis, cheating, on-court coaching, faking injuries and retiring from matches when she couldn't stand she was losing. This is how she got to number 1 during years. A real champion knows the sport is made of both winning and losing, not just winning, doesn't cheat and so on. She doesn't deserve to stand among legends of the sport. Are you happy?

I have both my mother and my father, I'm not an or...phan like her who always begged attention from her coach and I am healthy and can succesfully do my job, I'm not always injured and her..pes-mouthed like her. You Henin fans have always been very frustrated because many people care only about Sharapova, Williams sisters or Hingis and Henin only carries the title of cheater and those doping allegations for years. Seethe and leave me alone. Many people are happy Henin retired. I don't have to see her homely face anymore and it's great. 2011 - the best year,we got rid of the cheater.

Wow, this was high level tennis. The current WTA tour isn't as good as it used to be in this era. Stosur was playing great tennis and serving amazing, she also beat Serena in the following round and she beat her again to win her US Open title in 2011.

She doesn't have his mobility, that's the main difference. Plus his backhand is more reliable.
