EV means electric vehicle. Also the button near the cup holder on your door is for the trunk and the one near the gas pedal is for the hood. Also, the buttons on your door above the window switches is to adjust your side mirrors

The EV Button means the Honda Insight will fully function on a battery and turn off the engine, it’ll only use the engine when you are trying to catch up to highway speeds due to the CVT Transmission. It also has a Hybrid PWS in EV Mode when you put the car in reverse it’ll make an angel sound and when your in drive in EV mode it’ll do the same thing but a lower volume pitch.
