It's sad that I now get quite suspicious when I see reoccurring things/brands in youtube favourites. Makes me unable to discern whether it's advertising or a genuine recommendation (e.g. Kiko was in both this favourites and Fleur's despite it never* being mentioned before by either of them). I love both the channels don't get me wrong and have been watching for years but it's just a realisation I have come to. *at least not recently as far as I know.

+Cat8395 I understand how people have had to become more wary of certain things due to ad's as I am a viewer myself too of many youtubers - But I don't understand being untrusting because we haven't mentioned a certain product before - One of the main reasons we all do favourites videos is to share new items we have discovered during the month and have been loving. I for one can say that they were just something I tried out this month and genuinely have been loving....and thats it!

I think that both points (yours and mine) are completely valid in this situation and are just consequences of advertisers paying more attention to the youtube community and the following youtubers have ! I do think more clarity is needed whereby youtubers need to disclaim whether they have received something for free or whether they have gone out and bought it. Not that this should affect opinions (I don't think it should/necessarily does) but it's still something that should be more transparent :). Do want to say thank you however for the content you upload! I believe you understand this is no way affects how much how much I enjoy and will continue to watch your videos :)

+Cat8395 Bloggers get things sent to them (that's why you may see lots of bloggers talking about the same thing at the same time), and if they like it, they will probably show it in their favourites videos - and a lot of the time its a new launch/product. That's probably why you have seen youtubers speaking about the same things at similar times. Technically I don't think showing an item that you have been sent is advertisement. Check in description boxes, if the item has an affiliate link it means whenever someone clicks that link, the youtuber gets money from it. So its both a 'i like this item' thing and also a business opportunity (they get money for showing things they like). I believe it's only classed as an advert when the company has paid the youtuber directly to talk about a product.

+Maya I'm sorry but I disagree. Advertising is merely to promote something through a public medium. Which is exactly what favourites are (funded or not) : but I'm not saying that's bad ! You should promote the things you love, so that more people can benefit from them. That's not the point. People tend to like something more if they got it for free (I'm not saying that I'll suddenly love something I hate if it's given to me for free, but if we're talking purely economic standpoint : I haven't suffered detriment (paying) but have benefitted (good product)) - whereas in normal situations, you'll like something because you'll think the benefit out ways the detriment). So the relation with bloggers/youtubers that relationship is skewed - not dishonestly on their part (I would love to test products out as much as the next person). So all I think is needed is to know for what products it is :).

The nirvana fragrances are best if you mix them together. I worked at Sephora when they were released. The two fragrances were made to be nice individually but amazing together. If you have the Nirvana black too, I highly recommend that you try layering them
