I have had MacGyver theme as my ringtone over a decade. Couple of years ago I went for a work gig (as an electrician) to a local elementary school. Just as I entered the full school cafeteria, where ~200 students were eating, some music teacher randomly started playing MacGyver theme on a grand piano, very loudly, trying to get attention of the children to lower their shouting while eating. Wish I had that entry music everywhere I go :D

I started playing cello in the 4th grade, and loved it. Everyone always picks the violin or viola, but the cellos sweet, soulful moan was an underappreciated sound, and I'm so glad to see more and more it played as a lead instrument. Like others here, I'm glad this was recommended to me.
@cynsini92114 жыл бұрын
@Bill Harned I appreciate Brahms' works, but no, they didn't move me particularly. While being a Romantic composer meant his pieces had feeling to them, I tend to enjoy Impressionist cello compositions more when playing or listening to the throb and song of the cello. Debussy, Bartok, Ravel... those composers can take me beyond "appreciate" into "mesmerized". I think many would agree with you that Brahms ignited their passion for cello, but my piano teacher positively bludgeoned me with pieces from the 4 B's (I started piano at age 5), especially Bach and Brahms, and I can't rule out a subconscious aversion to Brahms' style due to that. Not much, because I'm still quite fond of the Romantic era, but my teacher loved Baroque works, so Romantic and Impressionist compositions were not encouraged much by her (outside of Brahms and Chopin), leaving me free to explore Debussy and Ravel (Ravel being one of my favorites, for piano at least) on my own time and develop a love for how pieces from some in that era fit so beautifully with the soulful reverberation of the cello.

@@76irodriguez I think that comment meant to be a joke. Like someone who 30 years after asks "Wait a minute, there is only one Hasselhoff? That man with the mustache was not the _actor's_ evil twin?" (NB not Michael Knight's evil twin.) I liked the comment - as a joke.
