Loving Sairam from Brindavan
SAMARPAN means ‘offering’, ‘total surrender’. This is an initiative by the alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Institutions (Sri Sathya Sai Students) as an offering in their loving gratitude to Swami. For Sai Students, Swami is their parent, guru, friend, philosopher, guide and God. All initiatives organized are with total surrender to Bhagwan, whose divine guidance has helped them achieve several small and big milestones. Hence, ‘total surrender’ to His Will. Samarpan is a platform for students & staff, devotees and alumni to re-connect with their Lord. A platform where senior devotees share their personal experiences with the Lord.
We thank Swami for blessing us with a very eminent speaker for the 145th session of Samarpan at Brindavan. Prof. Ms. Rajeshwari C Patel, the daughter of Late Sri. Chhotabhai L Patel and Late Smt. Shardaben C Patel, entered Swami's fold in 1972 from East Africa. She has been closely associated with His educational mission for several decades. She was probably the youngest to join the Sri Sathya Sai Girls Hostel at Anantapur as a young schoolgirl, at the command of Swami. She then went on to complete her Pre-University Course and Graduation from the erstwhile Sri Sathya Sai Arts and Science College for Women, Anantapur. Upon completing her Masters and PhD in English Language and Literature from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, she joined as faculty in 1985 in the English Department of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur campus. She also served as the Director of the Anantapur campus from 2017 to 2022.
Prof. Patel is a recipient of several awards and honors from the Divine Hands since her childhood. She also scripted and directed several plays that were enacted in the Divine Presence during His visits to the Anantapur Campus and at Prasanthi Nilayam. In the last decade, she has been delivering talks at various Samarpan sessions and addresses to overseas devotees as well. She has been spreading the teachings and message of Bhagawan, as a true Messenger of Sai, an Anantapur alumni association, of which she was the first Secretary when it was founded in 1981. She has also been living up to the message given to her by Swami, "Transform knowledge into action", which she says has been the guiding principle of her life.
