Do not pick Stone Cold Killer for Skippy when you get him. After a certain amount of kills, he’ll permanently swap to Puppy-Loving Pacifist mode. If you start with Pacifist mode, he’ll permanently swap to Stone Cold Killer after you incapacitate enough enemies with it.

Sadly it doesn't check the box of being a good gun. You can't upgrade it past level 40, so it's quickly outclassed by basically any other gun. Really disappointing.

The Nue [nu-é] is named after a Yokai from Japanese folklore. It is a chimera with the head of a monkey, body of a tanuki, legs of a tiger, and tail of a snake. Which is also why the in game gun is like a cross between multiple different handguns.

The Chao pistol might be an interpretation of the real life metalstorm machine gun system, where multiple bullets are stacked in the same barrel and then rapidly fired via an electric charge rather than a striking pin. This would make sense given Kang Tao’s propensity for high tech weaponry.

Out of all the exotic choices, Kongou, Lizzie, Dying Night, and Unity are still my favourites to use for most of a playthrough. They're just so satisfying.

Lizzie is the easiest way to win Wilson's shooting contest followed by Dying Night. After running several trials, on average Lizzie completes the 100 hits with 40 seconds left to just sit and laugh at Wilson, while Dying Night comes in around 30 seconds to spare. So if you aren't great at rapid fire shooting, choosing one of those two is easy peazy.

I think I'd play more melee if I didn't have to keep swapping out my 3rd gun. Since you can change your Loadout at any time I don't see why they shouldn't add this. As it is it's usually a lot more useful to have a shotgun for anyone who gets within striking distance since you can knock back enemies with the melee attack while using a gun.

I'm finally going through my first full playthrough of Cyberpunk after having picked it up at launch and I gotta say I've been really enjoying your weapon breakdowns! Excellent info, well organized, with room for more subjective takes to add nuance. Really fantastic work man - def looking forward to more. If you have time, even if it might be a shorter video, going through the plethora of *weapon sights* mods would actually be really useful. The game throws so many different kinds at you with a decent range of rarity types and layouts/visuals that it's difficult parsing through what sights are helpful for which weapon types.

For the inaccurate robots, the original Battlestar Galactica series had the Cylons, which were apparently robotic, more than apparently cyborgs. Also, the Star Wars prequel trilogy introduced the Trade Federation or Separatist droid troops. With the first 4 movies released before the year 2000, I think it could be fairly considered a 20th century franchise.

@@edschramm6757 cylons were robots trying to re-create human life. pretty cool concept. Definitely neither clones nor cyborgs, though, more so androids, and yes, there's a difference. Android = humanoid looking robot, think pretty much like the synths from Fallout 4. Cyborg = human with robotic augmentation. Adam Smasher, General Grievous, Kellogg, those are cyborgs. Cylons were blurring the line between androids and synthetic clones I guess.

Also yeah, the robots thing is most likely referencing the star wars droids, 'cuz cylons aren't known for bad aim, but the droids were getting shit on by the Clone army, which Clone army was a budget version of the proper Storm Trooper regiments, if memory serves right, simply 'cuz of the immense cost of human life of just sending soldiers into the meat grinder. - So Star Wars just brought in three separate tiers of "disposable", from generic soldiers to literal clones to "not alive, so morally acceptable to slaughter in high numbers for the canonical good guys, even though they're obviously sapient and self-aware AI robots with individual personalities and apparently even capable of feeling physical pain, experiencing emotions and having goals and aspirations."

Dying night as a levelled and legendary weapon is surprisingly good for ricochet builds. It’s got so many shots and such a strong headshot bonus that it’s often easier to fire at a roof or wall from an angle and take out guys behind cover easily. I didn’t like it for early playthroughs, but that’s because I neglected to keep it upgraded. Although one persistent issue with it is ammo. You can burn through a full stockpile really easily if it’s not used wisely.

My biggest complaint on Dying Night is kinda a product of it's fire rate : it runs out of ammo FAST. And usually I find that I can't take the time to reload it, though that may be a product of my build being made of glass, so by the time I've reloaded, three enemies have gotten close enough to two shot me

I can explain how the Chao works! If I had to make a guess, the barrel works on Metal Storm principles - it uses superimposed loads of bullets stacked end-to-end. Instead of a traditional hammer or striker, the bullets are ignited by electrical impulses.

Gotta say, that free legendary Lexington you get from the shooting contest is a very solid handgun, especially in the first half of the game. Fitting it with a good silencer resolves any issues with stealthy play, especially if you stack it with perks giving you crit bonuses from stealth. Easily a must-have pistol until you can find the more interesting ones later in this list.

Not only first half of the game, With good perks it is best pistol in the game until the credits. He has absolutely no recoil, it is very fast. Deals good damage at all combat ranges. And you can always upgrade it with engineering perks. With sandevistan he is the best because of his speed.

For Chao, it's based on a current weapons concept called Metal Storm. the idea is that the barrel(s) carry the ammunition stacked inside and are fired electrically to prevent, say, the fourth bullet back from being fired instead of the one with nothing in front of it. As for Johnny Silverhand's pistol, the Malorian 3516 predates the Mandalorian show by a decade or three.

@@hiteshadari4790 i take it to blue immediately and upgrade it for quite a bit. i leave it at blue for most of the early game. and even with the growing resource requirements to upgrade, at blue tier its pretty manageable. you dont need much more than that really early on. then it kinda depends on build. depending on my build direction ill put it to purple some time around level 20-30. as for legendary, it depends on how you prioritize your build. my suggestion is to just do it whenever you get to 18 crafting. as taking it to legendary is a pretty large boost with the extra mod slots. its honestly easiest to just purchase legendary crafting materials. and to get enough to upgrade 1 weapon 10-15 levels isnt all that much.

Agreed. It’s a tack driver. Install a liger(sp?) muzzle brake for 12% damage increase and some legendary “crunch” mods and I’m getting 900+ dps.

Great video. My only suggestion would have been to walk up to a blank wall and shoot it to display the firing pattern and the kick/drift. That was one of the first things I did when acquiring a new gun in the game. Some guns drift vertically and others drift horizontally

SBS (short barreled shotguns) are illegal under US federal law (unless you pay the feds money) because they are considered “concealable” at that length even though defining what is “concealable” is vague as shit and very subjective. If you start researching US gun laws and how firearms actually work (not the shit in movies/video games) you’ll quickly see how our laws make zero logical sense

Reloading with the barrel, a few years back there was a series of videos about a new type of gun called "metal storm". The handgun version the bullets rested in the barrel, not in a clip and were fired electronically. That "Chao" might be based on that, but that's the only gun I know of personally that fits.

The fact that you get it for free at the start of the game detracts some points. It's just boring to use the starter weapon, every gamer knows that. It's a shame because if you felt like you had to earn it, it'd be a great gun. I just got bored of it because it's too easy for a starter. Even if they hid it behind some lame fetch quest and didn't tell you about it it would feel like a unique weapon more than just the starter.

This is cool! Pistol really depend on the build you use. Tech pistol can become really strong with a tech build, but power one can be use a stealth or ricochet one. But Johnny gun is the best.

Worth noting: For any projectile weapon, the Pax mod renders it non-lethal only until the target is taken down. After that, any shots fired are lethal.

With Skippy, you forgot to mention the 50 kills quirk. If you choose stone cold killer when you first get him, after 50 kills, he locks to puppy loving pacifist. Likewise, if you chose puppy loving pacifist and killed 50 people, he can lock to stone cold killer but only with the right dialogue choices.

There is. After 50 kills, Skippy will pipe up and ask you a question along the lines of 'why do you like crippling your enemies'? If you reply 'Killing is wrong', he will stay in Pacifist mode.

I'm no gun nut, but I do know a little about engineering. The smart weapons are interesting in that they don't seem to be what we would call firearms. Rather, they seem to fire very small missiles. This isn't actually as far-fetched as you might think. In the 60s, there were some attempts to build man-portable miniaturized missile launching systems, like the Gyrojet, though those aren't guided like in CP2077. You can see this pretty clearly when reloading the Ashura. The Chao's combined-magazine barrel seems to be some kind of MLRS system. It's hard to see, but the Chao actually seems to have four total barrels. The missiles are presumably stacked up within the magazine, then fired in sequence starting with ones towards the front. There are also little indents visible on the non-grip parts of the magazine, which indicates to me that they're using an electronic ignition system. This doesn't really change the gun's effective range since again these are missiles; they're doing most of their acceleration outside of the barrel. This also explains why it fires in two-projectile bursts; sustained fire might cause heating issues that could in turn cause the gun to break, the other ammunition to ignite prematurely, or to just plainly prevent most people from safely reloading the gun without potentially injuring themselves by touching the hot barrel.

the magazine of the Yukimara looks like the FN P90 submachine gun, which i only know the name because it was what they used in Stargate SG-1, lol weirdly I'm loving the Lexington models, when i don't kill on the first headshot from stealth, doing 2 or 3 other shots in quick succession is pretty sweet.

I also appreciate the reload animation for several of the semi auto handguns is a Keanu Reeves habit. Flicking the weapon so an empty mag goes flying off is something Keanu himself picked up doing action movies and his firearm trainers for John Wick dubbed it the "Wick Flick".

The chao could fire like the "million round per minute" volley gun. It basically stacks caseless ammo in a barrel and has electronic firing mechanisms for each one and after the last one has fired the next one fires and so on. Look up million round per minute volley gun and you will find someone explaining it in a short im sure.

You can get legendary versions of the pistols that don't normally have them by saving just before you run into Sasquatch and defeating her. She always spawns with a randomized legendary pistol. I've done this to get a legendary Kenshin or Kappa, for instance. You have to make your save before Placide talks about keeping your eyes up though, once she's loaded in her inventory is set. That's not a big deal though since you can save just down the hall from where her bossfight room is.

I have 2 theories about the Chao. Though because it doesn't eject anything they both assume it fires caseless ammo. First, and most likely, it's probably a "MetalStorm"-esque weapon, firing caseless bullets loaded superposed in a single long barrel. Alternatively, it could feed in a more conventional manner from a helical magazine wrapped around the barrel.

In regards to the chao, there are guns that use electrically fired primers that seat mutliple rounds in a single barrel. Metalstorm is a famous example, Since smart weapons are using something similar to gyrojets, it's possible they did something similar here. As for Jackie's gun(s), you can the muzzle attachment a "compressor". I think you mean "compensator", since it uses the muzzle blast to "compensate" for recoil by directing it upward, thus forcing the barrel downward.

personally i love johnny's gun, jackie's gun, kongu, and death and taxes most as they feel the best even if not the best stat wise. johnny's gun in particular feels oh so satisfying to use. i love having johnny's gun satori and a throwing knife as it just feels like badassery all around. i wish you could dual wield as having johnny's gun and satori at the same time would be insane as the reload of johnny's gun is one of the most satisfying things in the game and satori 1 shotting everything brings me great joy in sandy mode as i rush in and slice like 30 people in half... so just imagine someone running in and in the blink of an eye 30 heads start rolling followed by the deafening roar of that pistol

I found a Legendary Kappa about a week ago when clearing all NCPD and gigs in the Badlands. It was somewhere in the south Badlands behind some random small building, however I'm not sure of the exact location nor if it was RNG. But if people are interested, I can try and load up a save file and see if I can find it again.

I recently started my 4th playthrough where I'm sneaking with a silenced pistol and I quite like Dex's Plan B. It performes well and I like the idea that since my goal is to one-shot everything then the cost of 1 ed/kill isn't that much since it's not designed, or I don't plan to use it, for long firefights, just for the sneaking. And if hell breaks loose and I'm in full combat, then I have other options for those situations. Also I just love how Jackie's pistol looks so I've been using it also.

Dying Night had been my preferred sidearm my entire playthrough. As I play a stealth net running build, I pretty much one shot any enemy while staying in stealth. You just have to get good at quick triggering or else you fire more shots than intended, but that bonus headshot damage is chef kiss for a stealth build.

I love the ricochet mechanic. It's a shame that it's not really usable on higher difficulty; taking time to line up the right bounce just isn't a luxury you can afford when every shot you take feels like a freight train.

I believe the Chao uses barrel and chamber mounted inside of a helical magazine. this means that the shells can't be ejected, as such this would require caseless ammunition. the same type of ammo in the G11 (COD's wind-up gun) and volcano pistol of our world.

it would make sense to swap the barrel if the heat and damage generated by its rate of fire are great enough. Many heavy machine guns have the ability to easily swap the barrel when under a heavy constant rate of fire.

My top for my corpo was 1. Malorian, 2. D& T/ apparition. Nothing more, just Knife 🔪. Really don't like lmg nor the AR guns. Shotguns and submachine are good too.. But that's more for my pistol semi build + Street kid or Nomad with firepower. Great vid. Regards
