Honestly, I think this series is becoming my favorite you've ever done Sam, even over Tryhard Thursday. Watching you play the same god, try different builds, learn different mechanics and interactions, and seeing how the same god performs in different matchups (or sometimes even in the same matchup, just different things happening) is both helpful to me and entertaining to watch. Especially when you start losing your mind on how well you're actually doing with the god versus what you expected going in.

So. I've always thought people were sleeping of Cherno. So out of curiosity, I checked Sam's smite guru. Sam's Chernobog has a win/loss ratio of 73.33% over 30 games. That's extremely solid. its not the largest sample size, but it isn't the worst. For some comparison, he has a 68.93% over 309 games as Ullr. Now we all know Sam doesn't consider his ullr to be especially good in comparison to other ullrs. For a god with more comparable matches, iirc, Sam generally considers danza pretty decent. 73.08% over 26 games. These stats don't even approach telling a full story when you consider the history of buffs, nerfs, memes, weird seasons and metas, whatever. But it does provide enough evidence that we can reasonably say that Chernobog is perfectly viable if you want to play him. For those who are wondering, His highest winrate god right now is Martichoras with a 94.29% over 35 games.

Hey Sam, just wondering if you would ever do something with Cu Chulainn? He's my favorite god and I'm just starting to get into duel and was wondering if he's even viable in duel.

Duel is mostly matchup and skill based, there are many common picks where cu could bully, and many where unless you're so much better than the other person you just lose, thats the nature of the beast. My recommendation is to just get in there, remember that for duel you want to be able to clear, and you want to be a little tanky to them. Usually you get one stacking item, one damage item, then defense, and then play it by ear. Maybe defense comes second, especially on cu, but honestly nothing to it but to do it. Mess around and find out what you should do to get cu to work.

It looked like for that last match he was dashing out of yout 1 range, so you couldnt root him. Thay seemed to be the biggest issue was him denying you cc to pin him down. Plus his damage you have very little counterplay against with how fast it comes out. If you are immune in your dash to cc you may be able to use aggressivly to bait the dash, if not ban herc lol

Netrioid has a really good Cherno build that might have worked here: Death's Temper, ASI, Exe, Fail-Not, Malicious DB, Dom. Obviously swap out the Death's temper for Valor, and maybe the Asi for Devo's (although stacking while losing is rough!), but that build has mega pen, crit, full CDR, plus extra CDR for the DB, and still has a bit of life steal. I get there's a bit of an attack speed trade off, but speed didn't look like an issue, plus with full CDR - and then some - you've got a near permanent stim (and almost infinite escape). Toxic blade against Herc didn't seem strong like it does against other hunters. Herc's attack speed wasn't the issue, and hitting enough basics to get the anti-heal working takes way too much.

I'll say it again about Herc. He is the ONLY warrior with high scaling and high base damage. Chernobog ult is not only good for rotating to ganks and returning to lane. It is also great for chading somebody who just lost a trade against you and ran away with a movement ability
