Honda GROM (MSX125) and the Honda Wave 125i - same engine. But which bike is better?

I would bet the fairings and bigger wheels give you quite the advantage over the grom at higher speed

Nice road. The better bike is the one that appeals most to the buyer.

@@ThisnametaKenny you got it in one! Completely agree.

I've ridden both. I used to rent waves, but I now own a grom. There's no comparison. It's now a minimum requirement for a clutch on bike for me these days. The (MSX) grom is more go anywhere and those fat wheels are great on sand. The new wave would be better on a long ride, but my ass used to go numb on the older waves just like it does on the grom. Thanks for the video I love stuff like this.Life isn't always about R1's ; )

Here in Malaysia, whenever an underbone have its stock/standard exhaust replaced with an aftermarket, the owners of said underbone would usually change the standard ECU or CDI (depending if it uses carb or fi) to an aftermarket one in order to cater with the more "opened" exhaust. Since you did bore up the engine of your Wave, it is HIGHLY recommended for you to get better ECU because the original ECU would struggle to regulate fuel-to-air ratio for the engine. It's alos adviseable for you to dyno it to get the best output from the engine.

@@Boris_Din_Dietrich__Hazim this is old. It’s now 143cc and dyno tuned. Check the Wave playlist

Bigger diameter wheels must feel better in bumpy roads.

I noticed a 'significant' bump in torque and top speed after swapping from std exhaust to a Moriwaki Monster full kit on my Dax (ST125). I'm the first owner of the Dax and it had gone 1100km when I made the swap. Other than that, it's all stock. Oh yeah, and tires were swapped to Metzeler Roadtecs, as the stock VeeRubber is absolutely, boneshakingly, garbage. =)

Good rubber choice. Interesting about the pipe too. I wish we got the Dax in NZ!!!!!
