If your looking for criticism, I find that the thing most of these people do wrong is the nose, that’s where the same face syndrome is most noticeable. Even though this person made the noses different sizes, they didn’t make the nose bridge any different like trying out hooked noses. Idk maybe the sims doesn’t have that much variety in nose bridges

i think it’s the length/height/width of the nose! i don’t think people realize how much that changes the way the face looks. in this simmer’s examples, the shape of the nostrils would change but the nose itself still takes up the same dimensions.

I think hooked noses are cute and nose bumps, too ❤ I love adding those features to my sims. I wish we could change eye shapes individually. Imagine if you could toggle facial symmetry on/off. People in real life don’t have 100% symmetrical features.

Just remember that getting rid of same face syndrome means more than giving sims different skin details. You have to really change the structure of the faces to get different outcomes

Thats why i stopped customizing my sims to the nth degree. Ive been enjoying randomizing until i find something i like, then i tweak a minimal amount. Then their spouses are usually either in game already or from the gallery lol

Yes, all of their face shapes are similar, they have similarly sized noses and lips, their eye placement and shapes are similar and there’s no real variety (low/high features or contrast). That being said, your sims are very pretty and it’s your game, make sims how you want to! No shame in having SFS.

I avoid same-face syndrome by leaving my sim's faces as they are when I first create them. I tweak them a bit, but the faces are usually fine when they are first randomized in CAS. Plus makeup and skin overlays and the right hair works wonders.

The way you test this is by making their color pallette(skin, eye, hair) clothes, and hairstyles the same and seeing how similiar the proportions look!

I think all simmers have distinct style and face they go for. For example the majority of my sims have really blushed faces and bodies, same face paint eyes, elf ears and a mix of alpha hair and clothes with some mm sprinkled in there which gives them a really similar vibe. But I like it because it makes all my sims look like they belong together and there is nothing wrong with that.

Yes. The standards which define what is conventionally attractive are so narrow, there's no room for them all to look different but also look "pretty". They all look symmetrical, long lashes, ideal skin with no wrinkles or spots, large lips and eyes, and they're all relatively young. In all honesty, the skin colours are the only real diverse and inclusive thing about these on face value. If I thought about the things which I see in real people's faces that differentiate them, like scars, acne, moles, asymmetry, large noses or foreheads, small lips, deformities, double chins, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, really, there is a WHOLE WORLD of faces out there and they look a lot different than this. Think about the grandmas, the farmers, the politicians, the surfers; Literally anyone can be made into a Sim, not just cute young girls.

Slight differences don't mean they're not essentially the same, though. The nose bridge, eye size, and lip size don't change. The eye shape changes minutely and the upper lip shape changes a bit. The faces are also an identical shape.

What's helpful for me is to make movie/tv characters. Pick ones that differ from your ordinary face shape. This will train you to start thinking outside the box and you'll have more fun creating unique sims!

The blonde and the dude are the most distinct but overall there's a lot of sharp upturned eyes, aegyo-sal/eye bags, plump lips, and straight noses going on with different head shapes so it ain't too too similar. For a face default it's really pretty tho, it definitely feels like different characters that are just using similar makeup techniques and trends

Yes, kinda. Especially the mouth. I have figured that making the head slightly wider/smaller usually does the trick. Or, moving the eyes a bit further away from each Other, or bringing them close/turning them up to the sides,just a bit. Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference.
