This is a wonderful video :) I think a lot of people (and Dean) had selective hearing this season with what Sam said. Sam NEVER said or implied that he was ok with Dean dying, what he did say was that if Dean was in the SAME CIRCUMSTANCES- meaning dying and no hope of a cure and aware that Dean was ready to move on like Sam was- he wouldn't trick Dean into possession. That's it. Jared confirmed that Sam was not lying about this at a comic con interview, which makes the "I lied" line in the finale rather pointless, as Sam had nothing to lie about. I think he said that because he understood what Dean thought he heard, and he didn't exactly have time to explain to him.

By any chance do you have the link of the itw where Jared said that ? because I would love to see it :) I only know that at jib5, Jared said he decided to change the lines in 9x23 from "I didn't know this was gonna happen" to "I was lying" to reflect that Sam had been lying in the scene from 9x11 (so that's confusing... :S)

The last Season was full of...fighting, anger and disagreements between the Winchester brothers...but they always love each other and there are always doing the "Same Mistake" again...they fight for each other. Man, Sam wasn't a douche long enough. Dean really fucked him over ughhh. Sam forgives wayyyy too quickly and never is allowed to express his hurt feelings before Dean goes ahead and does more stupid shit. But I will agree it was painful to see them fighting.

this is so amazing that I don't even know what to say. I just sooo in love with this video. I'll be honest - I was close to sobbing. I just can't handle such videos where so many parallels between brothers now and when they were little. It's sooo touching. And that scene from toy car?? what an amazing idea!! and you chose so many undervidded scenes and every one of them is in perfect time and perfect place! I'll say this once again, I don't know how to describe how awesome this video is, but I love it so so much! already rewatched a few times but I have one question though: why you decided to finish a video with "I can't trust you"? just the whole video seems to show us their bond and how much they mean to each other, and I though the conclusion would be that they are family no matter what and sooner or later (in s9 obviously later, urgh) they will make it up, so I didn't understand this moment.. p.s. gonna share this video everywhere, because everyone should watch it

Thank you! This is a wonderful comment :) Sincerely I hope you're right and that the conclusion of the show will be that they are family no matter what. It's kind of the heart of the show after all. But at this moment I am really depressed by the new episodes. And it seems that Dean trusts Sam, but for Sam things are more complicated. Of course he has his reasons, but he said really hard things. He feels he has been betrayed but there is so much more (I think). He is becoming really suicidal... I wanted to show how even after all what they have been through and even if they love each other there is still a big problem (from Sam's point of view) and I hope we will know more about it. I choose to end with "i cant' trust you" because it's really violent and confusing. Why did he thinks that ? After all that. It's how I feel after each episode now. And also because it doesn't seems really true. He said he wants to keep things strictly business but he still cares a lot about Dean. I'm not sure, but I don't think he really thinks what he says. I try to show that there is a lot of contradictory speeches in the resent episodes. But maybe it was not really a good idea. (PS: Sorry for my english :S)

Feuwise6 mm I see you mean. Yeah, I agree with you in this point. They've been though so many lies and fights, and they have different POV on some things and yes, sometimes such situations make their bond stronger after they go through it, but it bring a little split ups too. And now it's just uuuugh I can't handle them fighting! I think it's their biggest fight since season 4 and I want them to move on, but it doesn't seem like Sam's ready to make a truce yet. And about your video, it's not like this part seems wrong or doesn't fit the video, no, there's nothing I don't like about this vid, I just wanted to know more about your idea :) and english isn't my native language too, so we're in the same boat here ;)

Great vid on brothers' issues, very heartbreaking. So powerful. I loved that you went through their relationship using so many scenes from the past seasons. Wow. I'm surprised this video doesn't have more views. The song and clips were perfect. The way you organized them together was amazing. It really shows the brothers and what they are currently going through. It's amazing to look back on almost ten years for them and see how, though everything has changed, everything is still the same as well. There is nothing more important to them than each other, even when they say things like Sam has recently. After all, a brother who didn't care wouldn't have come running when called like Sam did in the beginning of last night's episode, even if he did slam the door on Dean in the end of it, putting them right back where they were in the beginning of it.

Thank you, It's an interesting analysis. I really like the parallels from the start and end of episode 14, because it show that things are more complicated than Sam wants Dean to believe. He says things but when Dean is in danger his attitude changes completly.

Feuwise6 I don't know why it seems so hard to understand Sam's mind. He said that _in the same circumstances_ (i.e. Dean dying and ready to go, WANTING to go, going in peace and at his own conditions) Sam wouldn't save him _against his will_ and, moreover, lying to him and betraying his trust, doing something _to_ him that he would know Dean would NEVER accept for himself. He NEVER said he didn't care anymore for Dean. He NEVER said he wouldn't try to save him _in normal circumstances_ (like the usual chances and misfortunes of hunting). He cares for Dean, even if he's so pissed at him that he's behaving like a total douche, saying such unjust and cruel things. In fact he cares SO MUCH for Dean that he would never (at least in his mind: maybe in reality he would) violate his free will. Because for him freedom of choice is the most important thing, while for Dean it is family. Now, if only the writers could make these two to meet in between... :-(

***** It's really good if you can understand Sam, and it has to be more enjoyable to watch the show in this condition. But even if I try to understand, there is still some points that I don't. It's not really about what happens with Gadreel but more about : What does Sam really want for himself ? but maybe you have understand that too : This are my arguments but maybe I missed something : -Sam convinces Dean to let him do the trials because he says that "he wants to survive ». « I want to live and so should you ». It's important for him. Life is important. And it's kind of a deal he made with Dean. He is gonna do the trials because he doesn't want to die. -But after that it appears that in fact he wants to die. And his argument when they are in the Church is that : Dean doesn't trust him and wants to replace him. And when Dean tells him that he loves him more than anything, Sam immediatly decide to not dying. -But in 9x12, he reproaches to Dean to have "talking him out of boarding up hell" in the church. But when you see Sam in the Church he isn't in his normal state, his actions seemed more desperate than reflected. Where is the boy who wanted to survive? -In 9x11 he says to Castiel that he choose to live in the church, he choose Dean. And three second later he says "it doesn't matter what Dean did." "I could have closed the gates of hell." So I don't know but maybe his anger is not really directed towards Dean but towards himself, maybe he has the feeling that he has been weak, that his choice was selfish and so now he punish himself and punish Dean in the same time ? I don't know. -In 8x23, we also learn than Sam's greatest sins (according to him) is "how many times" he lets Dean down. "I can't do that again" he says. But in 9x01 (the episode right after) he says he wants to die, an action which will leave Dean alone. This is really where I begin to have difficulties to follow his thoughts. Why did he change his mind? When it seemed that it was the most important thing for him. Because maybe he really wants to die? -But in 9x01 Dean said to Sam that he has a plan to save him "I can fix this, okay?" and Sam accepts his help. So he had the choice and he choose to live, again. After that, what Dean has done to Sam by tricking him with Gadreel is absolutly not right and Sam has the right to be pissed, but it doesn't seem to be the major problem here. I would like to hear them talking about lying but what seems to be the most important for Sam is that "he wanted to die", " I was ready to die" ... But what happened is that Dean convinced him to live. So what ? Is he angry with Dean to give him the desire to live or is he angry with himself because he can't say "no" to Dean ? So I don't know, for me, Sam's mind is a little conflicted about what he wants. But this is only my feelings and you don't have to feel the same.

ok where do I start? I watched the new episode today and talked with a friend about Dean and Sam and there thoughts to each other at the moment and your video made my crying. And it´s a long time ago that I cried over a spn video because it is so depressing at the moment but THIS masterpiece is just perfect. Season 9 is my favorite season so far, but the fight between Sam and Dean makes me so mad. when Sam says "No, i wouldn't." to Dean question if roles were reversed and he dying, he would do the same thing, it's ironic. In Faith (season 1) Sam saved Dean from dying and Dean was ready to die. Sam was going to save Dean from dying all of Season 3. In Trail and Error (Season 8) Sam said he saw a light at the end of the tunnel, he wanted to live, yet once Gadreel was out of Sam he is pissed that Dean saved him. It angers me to know that. It breaks my heart from Sam not to trust Dean because of that. It angers me even more so that Sam can barely even call Dean his brother. I might be a little bias because i'm on Dean's side, but in my opinion Sam is wrong. This is great, Thank you for making this. Sorry about the rant. Carry on. :D

Because , and you said it perfectly, until seaon 9, Sam has never let Dean die. He choose to do the trials in order to save him. So personnaly I think Sam is angry, not really with Dean but with himself, because he couldn't finish the trials and Kevin has been killed. I don't know where the story is going but this is Supernatural so I think we will have a big emotional moment and Sam will save Dean or something like that (but maybe I have too much hope)

okay let me just say this video was AMAZING! but I wanted to a dress some of the comments I'm seeing here. if you like dean that's great so do I and he deserves to be happy. he deserves the world he's saved multiple times. however, I'm fed up with the whole Sam's a douche thing. I don't know if you realize this but sam did NOT say that he wouldn't do the same thing for dean. he said UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES he wouldn't. this means if his only option was to trick dean into being possessed by a shady Angel he wouldn't do it. Sam knows what it's like to be possessed. it means control over your own body being put into someone else's hands. what I'm trying to say is that what dean did was wrong. he might have had good intentions but he manipulated sam, who has been on a mental downward spiral since forever, into letting an angel in which had catastrophic consequences like Kevin's death. just put yourself in Sam's shoes for a minute and take a while to let that sink in. dean took Sam's freedom of choice away, how would you feel?

You're totally right. I don't think that Dean was right to do what he does, but when it comes to save each other the Winchesters have a tendancy to make bad desisions. I don't think there is a need to pick a side. Anyway when it comes to family the Winchesters don't think with their head. In season 8, Sam felt guilty because he didn't look for Dean, and then he saw that Dean was starting to create new bonds (Benny...) and he thought that Dean could in some way replace him. He told that to Dean and Dean felt guilty for it. Also Sam wanted to die in the church because of this guilt, but at the last time when he saw Dean he changed his mind. Dean told him that Sam was his priority number one, and that's all Sam needed to hear. So that's complicated, because in season 9 when Sam was dying, Dean thought that Sam wanted to live. He should have let him the choice, he didn't and that absolutly wrong. But in his mind, he was doing what it takes to kept Sam alive, like he promised him in the Church, he would figure a way to save him blablabla. Winchesters' messed up love story you know...
