I think some of the advices given in this discussion can work for bissexual people, but they are not going to work for people who only have attraction to the same sex. Some mental "training" to avoid same sex attraction lead to a bureaucratic relationship, mechanical affection which is far from genuine attraction and love. That´s why I am more for true love , no matter if it is for the opposite gender or same gender. Just love. God cares about love. Religious people interpretation of the bible is what makes same sex attraction something broken, bad, unnatural, ugly and ungodly.

I'm female and a P.K. I don't think the question is whether it's wrong or right. Hetersexual relationships are not automatically right, it can be abusive and degrading. Human beings are more complex than accounted for. There is subliminal attraction between close blood relatives at some point. Latent or denied, there is visible attraction within the sexes on a regular basis. It is time to talk about what IS. Certainly God is equal to that, if the church isn't. Honestly, I think this is something you have to come to your own conviction about. And head toward likeminded fellowship. Because the scant scriptural references involve varying interpretations. Whereas if it were an essential caveat to salvation, it would be one of the commandments or so. I have my own journey with it. But it is ok if we all end up in different places. You yourself might feel very different ways about it at different points. But if you focus on journeying with God in every aspect of your private life, you will develop an equilibrium and a peace. Over time an authentic sense of the way forward. Not just bombarded with more easy answers. I came to neither a secular conclusion nor a puritanical one.

I’m right in the midst of all this….married, kids, continued same sex attraction and my wife and i are not connected on a deeper level. It’s painful. She always wants to fix me and has said that if i cannot look at her with sexual desire then we cannot stay married. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to run off and join the pride parade or marry a man, that will never be what i want, but she tends to think i do. It’s not. But since we cannot connect and she has a very dominate personality, we are probably not going to continue our marriage, sadly.

If a gay man marries a man, they think it is horrible. The only real way to satisfy them is to stop being gay, which is likely impossible, A lot of gay men marry because they cannot admit to themselves that they are gay. They often have lied to themselves, not to their wives. If false shame had not been inflicted on gay men, this would not happen. I once asked a gay man who had married a woman, how he could possibly have not known that he was gay. He said, "The power of denial is very strong." It is bad form to rush to judgment without knowing the circumstances.

Excellent video. Being someone who is a saved Christian with SSA, my #1 fear of sharing is rejection even within the Church community. Why does the Church (generalized term) treat sin as one being worse than another when all sin is equal? This has always bothered me... Thank you...

I'm gay I always have been. I was never sexually abused. So I don't believe its a sin at all. I also am not a Christian. I Blv in god but not the one described in the Bible. I guess its because I was raised to accept myself.

I would like to have some resources, therapy or discussion. I am married with a kid. This discussion rings my bell... I wish it didn't, but it does. I have wanted to seek help and offload for years. The problem is that I am afraid to seek help because there are so many progressive ideologies, I am afraid that they will bekon me further into it rather than helping me reconcile with my struggles in a Biblical way.

Maybe you should read some criticisms of the Bible and consider the possibility that its reputation is mythological, that it is not magical or "God-inspired". Superstitions of Christians are in no way superior to superstitions of ancient Romans, Greeks, Mayans or Inca.

Sometimes when your wife or husband leaves you for the same sex, it is because sometimes you have not been as nurturing as you may think. Do you think that men and women who are attracted to each other are broken? I hope in your pretty little heads, you are not equating sexual promiscuity with genuine love. If that is the case, then heterosexual people are in the same boat as homosexual people. You in the Checkered shirt, are truly anti-gay, yet, looking at you, I'm not convinced that you are str8. And please do not tell me about the story of Sodom and Gomorrah because that is not about sex. My first sexual experience was with a female. I was 6 she was 12. I went back for more and she did not want to do it again. She is married to an old friend, I'm still attracted to men. I think you guys are putting too much strain and energy into something that will not exist in heaven. You need to live and let live. If you say I do, You should mean that and stick with it through thick and thin.

Some same- sex attracted people find that they can pursue the same sex for partnerships. They are glad that they can do this as free people. It does work for some people. It has worked for 24 years for me and my male partner. I wouldn’t change a thing. I enjoyed your talk. Thanks.

I beg to differ with the statement, that your sexual development comes from your experiences rather than being innate. Heterosexual sex is rather prevalent in our society. It is all around us. Homosexual sex on the other hand is not so much around us and in our faces. Not all gay men or women have been molested. For crying out loud, our Mothers teach us to masturbate. I know it sounds strange but what do you think happens when Mom is bathing her baby boy. He gets aroused and it is not just a reflex. Though it may not be thoughts of as we might as an adult, the results are the same. We see our parents kissing on occasion you may catch your parents engaged in sex, but rarely ever the homosexual act. Yet we have men and women who deviate from their parents behavior. If as one of you said, boys experiment with other boys at an early stage, then why is it not all the boys who participated in circle jerks are gay? So if you are watching str8 porn, then wouldn't it stand to reason that you'd be attracted to the opposit sex. Why then in that situation would on boy gravitate to the penis rather than the vagina? This makes me believe that we are predestined to be attracted to whom ever we are. What about Lions and Geese, and some other animals out there are in homosexual relationships. My question to you is why the shame, and why do you think it is wrong?

I don't see same sex contact as bad or negative! God made she, he, me. All sounds like supressed hysteria! There are all types of relationships. The relationship of a man between a woman, a relationship of a man with another man. Platonic relationships or even the bond we have with a pet. Same sex attraction comes about in the first 14 years of life. The mothers love in the first 7 years and the fathers in the next 7 years. We all need to be loved, but it's our development of that love. Biologic parents are the best suppliers of this love , because they truly care and want there children to to succeed and be the best. If they are not damaged and narcissistic. Isn't homasexaul love , those just trying to find themselves for a disfunction marriage ? No one is perfect, even our parents. Is this the reason for the the words, to forgive is Devine ? And if you are going to forgive, shouldn't we not forgive the person who is left trying to find him or herself ? Was Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed for homosexualaty or lust ? If Jesus would have mercy on a prostate, would he have mercy on a homosexual ?
