In Canada, if you are forced to quit because the work environment has become toxic or impossible to function in, and your employer has failed or refused to take steps to make it a safe place to work, you have rights. You can claim constructive dismissal to get full severance pay - as much as 24 months' pay, and potentially human rights damages, depending on the circumstances. I signed a clause where the employer can use me to do other work outside me normal duties. My employer gave me extra work to do which relieved my co-workers from his job and it was added to mine. Is that legal to do?

It is most important that the employee sign an employment contract. The contract would likely not be rendered void if the employer did not sign.
