Nice one, Sam! Having to struggle with less tools than most woodworkers on KZbin - well, that makes you one of us, actually! 😄👍👍👍

This is your every day type of build. There is no imperfections. There is only character that is added to this piece. Now I need to go build one for next season.😂

Buddy, these videos are so relatable. 😆 It is a symphony of honesty, vulnerability, great information and humor. When you smashed your finger, I yelled "Ouch, @#*$%!" out loud. Also, stepping up to the plate in front of the world with less-than-ideal equipment is a refining crucible, that most people wouldn't care to subject themselves to. Kudos. 👊🏻💥

Miss seeing you working with John but I’m glad to see you back building! Quick tip- when you’re trenching on the miter saw, put a scrap between the fence and the piece, you won’t have to turn it around to remove the curve the blade leaves behind, the slide motion will leave a nice flat bottom on your lap.

Thanks Sam. We all can relate. Not many have a jointer or table saw to square those construction grade 4x4’s. I like it and thought it was a perfectly fine piece of equipment for your target.

Hope you had an excellent Christmas, Sam. Thanks for keeping all the bumbles in the video. Shit happens and it's just a project to practice and remember that we're only human. It turned out exactly as you needed it to, functional. :D

I started with a rigid crappy saw and a deWalt miter saw. Now I have a fully stocked cabinet shop ( not industrial ). You do custom built ins and closets and you’ll make enough to build your own shop. One closet-7k ,materials-1500 profit 5500. Do the math. One a week or I. Two weeks you’ll make enough to buy any tool at a time.

That is awesome!

@@SamGreenMaker you gotta get in the closet game. My market is 750-1 mil houses. Average $7k per closet. One week per closet. I work by myself and listen to your vids and John’s. I feel like I know y’all kinda. But you understand what I mean by that I hope.

For minimal tools, I’d consider looking for a decent corded circular saw and an upgraded blade - with a bit of patience and hand saw finishing you could do all the mortises and tenons for this I think - and a corded saw that doesn’t go flat and decent blade - it’s a lot less frustrating than a battery powered saw that you hate with an cheap out of the box blade. I don’t want to seem like I’m pressuring you - I like having fancy tools and I like watching creators use appropriate tools even if I have to do something the hard way in my garage. Just trying to float ideas for tool minimalism. A corded drill and a corded saw bought cheap and second hand from someone who’s upgraded to expensive cordless versions on Facebook marketplace or something lets you do some pretty wild builds with minimal investment.

I agree. It’s not so much having all the tools. But the right tools and a good quality version of it.
