That's insane, well done. I've had my own "shawshank" dream for many years, to find an old broken boat and restore it to health to sail it across the world. I'm now looking into getting my papers and somehow building up experience. I need to meet people with boats!

Hey Sam, Stephen. We met on the boat that got its rudder stuck on the rock. Great to meet you, we were not stuck too long, the lifeboat had to roll us off with a line from the top of the mast, fortunately there was no significant damage to the rudder. Happy Sailing. Thanks for helping us finish the Rum!

The pilot station there was closed in 1903. All the best.

I always have extremely long ropes in my boat in case I want to do extra lines to the shore. Whenever possible I do them as a loop, so that they go around a tree or a rock so that I don't have to get off my boat to pull the rope in. I also have some chafe protection on the part thats going around the tree to protect the rope

I just watching another KZbin Sailor, and he found that water was in fact coming in through the anchor locker and it worked its way down throughout other compartments the lenght of his boat!! He was saying something about the locker seals not holding up very well! I believe he set up a pump in that area to catch water before it made its way down or something like that!! Anyway, I love your videos Brother, good luck on all your travels, God Bless! I hope to one day make my way out onto the great blues!! Beautiful Indeed!!!

Don't know if you've ever read The Riddle of the Sands, but it is one of the first great novels of the spy genre. That's cool on its own but the reason I mention it is because it involved two English men sailing a small boat around the East Frisian Islands kind of between Germany and the Netherlands as they spied on the Germans. Great read. Was later made into a movie starring Michael York, which I believe can be watched for free on KZbin, though the book is much better of course. Anyway, be cool to sail through the same places where the book took its settings. Could be a good conversation piece too. 😃

Nice vid! Some advice on tie up the boat these waters with the rocks - will be much of it up the east coast and in Finland too; if good weather - there is the typical sun-breeze that can be rather strong during the afternoon going towards land - but during the night there can be a night-breeze that can also be significant from the opposite direction - so you need to be aware of that when you tie up the boat. Also this can be used for planning the sail - use the breeze that is in your favour - get up very early to use the night breeze and you will do good progress before the sun-breeze starts in you nose.

Great videos about Anholt, and it's kind of funny to follow you around the world in your videos and then see you go to the same end-of-road spot I and my family went by bike a year ago. We have our sailboat in Skallkroken harbour in Sweden so Anholt is only 7 hours of sailing. Assume you have done Ven by now, and I hope you had the opportunity to visit Hven distillery where they produce one of the very few whiskies in Scandinavia. I would recommend Kiel channel when leaving Scandinavia, and if you have the time go the "Stand Mast Route" through Holland down to Amsterdam. Not much sailing, but great adventure and lot of video opportunities. You might need an extra pair of hands onbord both for Kiel Channel and Stand Mast Route. Shouldn't be a problem since you have so many followers. If you look into this, best start point for "Stand Mast Route" is Delfzijl. Passing Groningen and Leeuwarden was special...
