It's a style of bow I have yet to try, every time I go to buy one I end up with something else. One of these days I'll get one. I trust you'll get on really well with it, they are lovely bows. Thumb draw only , to get the most out of this lovely bow ;)

As regards the small handle, they often came with a large cylindrical foam wrap, which could be cut and sanded down to size, so a wrap would be very appropriate. Remember, you should really only be holding it with 3 fingers, middle to pinkie.

Nice bow but it's a shame that most of the video was taken up by the unpacking! Will look elsewhere to get a proper review.

@@sigmanarchery54, I want to get back into archery after not being involved in it for over 20 years. I used and still have a Bear compound bow that's 55lb-70lb but I want to get a recurve-type bow of lower poundage as I want something simple but smooth, fast & reliable. Also I want something that is easy to look after and transport.Too many wheels and cables in the compound. I'm in my early fifties and have a solid build, though I'm a bit out of shape!..still quite strong. I'm thinking of getting one of these in 45-50lb draw weight and want to go into a shop and check out the bow in person so I can understand more about it. I'm having trouble with getting over the idea of using feathers instead of vanes like I used to use with my compound bow. I don't like the idea of them getting wet and not flying properly etc, also general durability compared to vanes. I will make my own arrows as I used to and am in the process of getting re-equipped to make them. I have some woods and some aluminium shafts, with more aluminium shafts of the way. I'll try carbon one day I suppose. I don't even have one of these SKB bows yet, just my old compound! I want to do a bit of hunting - mainly foxes and rabbits on my small 5.5 acres of land in Australia, also could get permission on local properties I'm pretty sure. I look forward to holding and using one of these bows. It will be a learning curve once again and I look forward to owning and shooting one of these. Thanks again for your videos, I find them extremely interesting and informative. You have some great bows to play with. I love your accuracy with the bow!..great to watch you in action. Thanks!

hoodatman. First off I’m sure you will enjoy it. It is super fun. All though there is a big difference between shooting off-the-shelf then off your hand I highly recommend you go somewhere where you can shoot some bows. 45 to 50 pounds takes quite a bit of strength if you want to keep shooting for a long period of time. But that also depends on your drawl length and what the bow is rated at like 45# @ 28” drawl. If you listen to a lot of the other instructor type archers they would recommend as I do that you start off with a lighter poundage bow to get your form and technique then move your way up to a heavier poundage bow. I would recommend starting off with a 29 pound BEAR BULLSEYE or the JANDAO there are a lot of bows similar to them PSE, RAGIM and many more. I have some videos on the Bullseye and the JANDAO I really like both of them very nice shooting bows. Thank you again for your kindness I hope to see you soon on a video shooting your new bow, Keep me posted God bless my friend.

Great review, just wondering if the bow feels the same as pulling back 40 pounds, ive heard people say it feels 10 pounds less.
@sigmanarchery545 жыл бұрын
Harry Cockfield. First off Thank you so much I appreciate that. To me it fills all of 40# @ 30” and doing Thumb draw I’m poling 30” to 31” Also that is what shows up on my scale if you’re looking to get this bow I don’t think you could go wrong it’s a really nice bow and seams to be a fast bow also, I really like the bow I have a few other videos shooting the bow thank you again God bless!!

@@sigmanarchery54 hey I know this may be a big ask, but could you put the bow on your scale and see what it reads at 24/25 inches. I would be delighted to see as i am very interested in this bow (and being from Australia) I would love to try this bow out on more than targets. I was just not sure on what poundage to get because it's measured at 30 inch draw.

Harry Cockfield. Ok mine does come in @ 40# @ 30” and it about 2.5# per 1” so 24” Is 25# 25” is like around 27.5# if you want I can try to show you in a video my cheep set up hope this helps. Are you going to shoot traditional or thumb drawl.
