Kainokai 60 Traditional Hunting Longbow

I bought a Kainokai 58" reflex/deflex style longbow at 25# for my wife and I to get started in archery. I am impressed with the quality for such an inexpensive price. The bow actually measures out to the stated draw weight. It is amazing what a person can get for not much money to get started in archery. I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!

I shoot off my bare knuckles, but I always check the leading edge of each feather, shave off any sharp bits or high spots--and apply a couple or three coats of Duco cement to the lead into the feather to build up a smooth transition. It wouldn't hurt to do this, even when using a shelf.

So awesome that you are shooting a long bow asiatic style with a thumb release and khatra! One of the advantages of not having an arrow shelf to shoot off of, I guess. Great review. That's a bow I have my eye on for sure but I'm also contemplating a horse bow from AF Archery. Just can't think of which one yet...

I'm having a blast shooting this one. I am going to modify the grip with a leather wrap and add something to the back of the grip under the leather wrap. Nothing major, but due to the flat back in the grip area it creates a void between the back of the bow and your fingers. Thank you for the comment. Have a great evening. Best regards

High density engineered wood probably mean it would wood soaked in high density resin. Big Jim puts his riser in a resin soak
