Im so sick of them thinking they are gaining more UNIQUE players. How many of these "new players" are just alt accounts??? Imagine if 25% of the playerbase has at least 1 alt account to do things like learn a new hero/role or play with friends at other ranks or whatever else. How would that LOOK on paper? "Oh wow we have such insane player growth!" When in reality it's just some dude logging into an alt to check if they can que with friends without it being a wide match. Log in and check rank, nope its too high. Hold on let me check my 3 other accounts to try and find one that can group with my friends without wide match. Some dude at Blizzard tracking player count stats - "Oh wow! Our player count is exploding! What did we do right???" Some other dude with the balance team - "i think we should nerf genji again because every time we do all the genji mains make new accounts to play at lower elo with friends!" That's brilliant!

It's a free to play game people just download it also not to mention regardless the player base will feel just because it's free to play. Also they have stats for people to log in multiple times. Daily and monthly I believe. Most people playing the game aren't OW1 they are casual OW2 only players. Who aren't apart of the wider internet community couple this with all the OW1 people leaving. It ends up making the game seem even more dead than OW1 when in reality it's just not.

I agree however overwatch 2 IS 5v5. Corpa probably wont let them swap back unless something drastic happens. They also have heavy monetization because thats all that matters in a F2P game. As long as the game makes money it doesn't matter what the players feel. Best thing you can do is to just abstain from buying stuff.

The QP situation is getting out of hand, I’m a low elo (gold-plat) player and the amount of toxic overly competitive lobbies I get in QP is insane, I had a game this morning I was playing tank and wanted to play some ball (I’m a terrible ball player) to see if I can work on my skill with the hero and my team was screaming at me to swap and when I told them to chill out because it’s QP and I’m trying to focus on improving my ball game they all reported me and were in chat begging the enemy team to report me too. I was genuinely trying to improve my game but now I’m worried if I keep trying to practice with my bad hero’s in QP I’ll get banned for it

4:23 if you are talking about wide groups having super long queue times, then, no, it's not a hard problem to solve. If a GM and a silver wanna group fine, let them wait. Do not sacrifice the quality of competition or the queue times for the 8 other people. The wide stacks should be grateful it's even possible to stack together. If the queue time is too long for them then they don't have to stack.

Jeff’s team tested it internally and said it didn’t work. You didn’t have enough impact. He also tested 4v4 and 5v5. Said you mattered way too much. 6v6 was the only one that felt perfect.

Every season is mid, or broken, never good. Push map fixes are about 6 seasons too late Mythic skins should be bought by comp points but blizzard wants more monetisation. QP is still miserable. My wide group (a duo about 1 division away from narrow group) still take like 20 minutes to find a DAMN GAME. Im so burnt out on caring for this game. Ive stopped playing not because I hate it but because I cannot love it anymore

This is cool, I guess. But it's really nothing more than "We know, and we're working on it." The charity event is good, they should do this kind of thing more often. But there's nothing here that makes me intetested in playing the game again. I'm a Tank player, and playing Overwatch feels like a chore. I've picked up other games lately, namely Helldivers 2, and the experience is such a breath of fresh air. Transparant devs, rapid updates and balancing, everything in the game can be earned for free, amazing community feeling and also charity events. No FOMO tactics, no 5 different currencies for skins. Hell, you get rewarded for NOT playing the game as every major order is community driven. I've never been into PVE games, let alone co-op ones, but Helldivers is SO much fun. It's a glimpse into what OW2 PVE could have been.

the MM isnt a hard problem to solve, they need to do 2 things. get rid of champion, put a new rank in between gold and plat, adjust stats to flatten the bell curve a bit undo the skill reduction patch (with all the projectile sizes), then do the opposite making everything require more precision. ranks will feel more distinct, like how you can tell the dff between a master and a GM, instead of getting a plat, and thinking they are silver

Blizzard is just showcasing the skins and not revealing the balance patch because they know it’s gonna suck due to the fact that they have messed up the game beyond all measure. This game cannot be fixed. They have misbalanced the game so badly for so long now that it’s untenable. They’d literally have to go through every balance patch they made and undo it for the past 6 seasons.
