Hopefully the rekease of this game will be the kick in the pants that Overwatch needs to be innovative. My friends and I are so sick and burnt out from overwatch 2. One of my friends just flat out refuses to play it anymore and I don't blame him. We're all so unbelievably hyped and excited for marvel rivals. We all managed to try out the beta earlier this year and fell in love. We all can't wait to 5 and 6 stack with my friends on this game and not play overwatch. It's's going to be epic.

One feature ive been hoping rivals puts into the game is comicbooks. Imagine if they built an original rivals comic into the battlepass that you unlock pages of which are saved to a vault and gives lore for the game. This game has so many potential features, options, and could bring in fans that arent even gamers if they fully capitalize on the IP. As long as netease doesnt fumble i dont think blizzard has a chance of competing against something as big and old as Marvel.

This game has so many similar abilities to Overwatch, but with a small spin on them and yet, they do it so MUCH better. In terms of balance and feel, the cherry on top is it’s all these marvel characters. So fucking fun clambering around as rocket raccoon or sitting on groots shoulders. So many of these characters have excellent mobility, but the idea is that the game was probably built with the thought of most characters being agile so it’s not awfully unbalanced and power creep centered when new heroes fly all over like overwatch

To be honest i started to like and play overwatch with my brother, and he convinced me when overwatch 2 came out, and we had a lot of fun, then one day while i was playing the megaman battle network collection i got an email saying i was banned from overwatch for cursing (which later changed to hacking) which i dont do, and when i tried to appeal it the staff just said i was banned and there was nothing i could do, then i got into a play test and loved marvel rivals so i am so excited for it to finally come out.

I been playing Rivals for the past 2 days and its AMAZING, the amount of heroes and abilities with various styles of play is incredible and I love the fact that they have 3rd person view , so you can ACCTUALLY SEE the skin that you put on, the 6 v 6 is a bit chaotic but you eventually get used to it and its so much fun, if they add PVE something like heroes vs Sentinels , it would be amazing but in all seriousness this game has so much potential.

That's why I think he is in the wrong by wishing to add more tanks and support. It is exactly tanks and support that kill the meta and make it boring. If you not have many fix points (where you can build a meta around too much which is most of the time tanks and support). With less those fix points it is more a skill, momentum, and coordination that makes the win. Then the game remains competitive especially the ceiling of skill will increase in handling the character and working as a team.

Overwatch had to create original characters, while Marvel Rivals is using characters that we, the fans, grew up with, that we love, that we feel nostalgic about, on top of that, the MCU, which made Marvel the biggest cinematic universe of all time by far, and this game will continue to put more heroes with more fanbases and will keep getting bigger and better, the gameplay of the new heroes and team-ups will keep making the gameplay unique, like Cloak and Dagger unique gameplay, the amazing art style, and the game also has a narrative. OW was stripped of all its core values. The universe was destroyed and adds characters that don’t even fit the world. The battle pass is 1000% garbage and everything needs transactions to enjoy. Marvel Rivals feels like its a mess and yet its more balanced the ow2, i player for 5h today and in a long years playing games like ow1-2, i had fun, cause the charathers are well builded, they have their own kit and roles, there is not that character that overpowered, i mean im playing Jeff a damn support shark and that mf is cute, has an incredible simple kit and his ult its like a gift for someone that used to love playing lucio for the boops, the only downside i found was people pick dmg always and never pck tank or support, so i think we might in the end need to get a role queue otherwise it turns into paladins, but same time if they manage to keep the game balanced has it is it might continue to work well, also a think that they have working that ow fcked up its highlights, we have post game chat, i mean this is a good start for the game, i will be playing and saying goodbye to years of Ow cause that game is being run by complete morons that focus on sht that nobody cares.

Only real complaint is it does all the usual scummy monetary bullshit like having skins be slightly more than the currency u can purchase forcing people to either go higher or buy a second cheaper pack, battle pass requires you to do daily’s and weekly to progress it pushing people to jump on every day which will lead to burn out, or preventing people from having fun because it makes them feel like it’s more of an obligation. Everything else is good tho, I’m having fun with it.

The thing is, there is no role queue. Which means my interest is only a little, which is crazy to say as an Overwatch & Marvel fan. I genuinely refuse to go back to open queue. I waited for years trying to get people to understand how to design a structured team, yet it only happened one in every ten matches AT MOST & I f***ing refuse to deal with that again. So while it will be a cool week of trying the game out, it feels more like a sequel to Gundam Evolution than Overwatch without role queue. Best change ever put into the game. I wish it weren’t like that as I love the flexibility that open queue provides. But 2016-2019 taught me that I never want to ever rely on my team to design fundamental aspects of a game, such as team structure. F**k my team & these random people I get queued up with.

@nazarenomilohanich4883 min 1 is role queue. While it isn’t as structured as Overwatch’s role queue, it would be enough for me to be much more interested than I currently am. I have great queues in Overwatch & as a support main I’m very happy with Overwatch’s state right now. If I hated Overwatch, maybe I would be much more interested in Rivals. But due to me having a great time in Overwatch, Rivals has to give me a real reason to be excited & with open queue as the only option I don’t see much reason to be excited.

What Marvel Rivals has is CLEAR vision of Character identity and letting them FEEL like the comic book characters that are extraordinary/superhuman. No matter what numbers pump out data-wise. The game design and combat design is superior on both paper and in application. Period.

Overwatch 2 feels like if a parent said they were going to get their kid a new action figure, and then proceeded to rip off their kids favorite toys arms and legs, and replace the head with a new one.

I just thought about this and I think it's a good point: the devs behind OW1 admitted that Overwatch was a happy accident. They never intended for that game to come out the way that it did. So everything after was catching its footing which was why balancing was so bad. Rivals took its recipe intentionally and is improving on it. Nothing it does is an accident. It could still flop, but its less likely IMO bc they aren't actually stumbling on their two feet.

My one biggest apprehension with this game is Open Queue, I think people will be ok with it for a little bit but I think after like 6 months people will want some form of role queue. Personally I don't want 2-2-2 role lock but something that is in between where you have a flex role included. I simply think Open Queue is going to be too hard to balance well with all of the different compositions you can play. But this game for sure has potential to be good.

I doubt I'll play OW2 anymore. There are several characters I can play in Marvel Rivals that fit my playstyle. I usually play Moira, and get flamed for DPSing. In Rivals, there are several characters that have similar aiming mechanics in each role. I can play Scarlet Witch or Cloak & Dagger and still have the same mechanics. As a Ball main, I can play Spider Man or Venom. I'M EXCITED!

It seems good. A bit fast pace for me, but overall good. Even the black widow gameplay was not what was expected, as shes more of a glass canon high damage low mobility character. Also Sam is my absolute W pookie king.

Valorant is more for rainbow six siege people than it is overwatch. The only reason people say overwatch is because of the style of the game. Marvel rivals is looking to be what overwatch was to players in 2016, a new hero shooter game of the year, that only wont be because it released too late.
