@Leandro3065PT That just gave me a business idea, because I would also ask if I could pull parts to sell as art pieces people could have in their homes. Parts like that metal plat to an entire side panel with the team name from the 80's on the side, fade and full of patina but made to look nice and be safe, as you wouldn't want a rusty car part falling and hitting you in the head. But also give a back story on the piece as well.

Sam sounds like he’s genuinely pissed at the yard owner at times, honestly I don’t blame him.
@CruisinCaprice4 ай бұрын
Nah it’s not the yard owner that is at fault, it’s the location, same car in Aus rust in all the usual places but they don’t get anywhere near as bad as Japan or America
@Eebens4 ай бұрын
@@CruisinCaprice it partly is the owners fault, I've known a few of these hoarder types with dozens of "unfinished projects" sitting around in their yards. Every year the cars condition gets worse and every year the owner refuses to sell. That goes on for sometimes decades untill the owner passes away and whats left of the cars are sold to scrappers as scrap metal. You have to remember that even in Okinawa this doesn't happen overnight, it's just the owners not wanting to let go of their cars but also never getting around to actually fix and take care of them.

The crazy truth around this is that it gets expensive to keep older cars on the road in Japan. Here in Australia after our ten year rules for imports we were buying our dream cars at very low cost. Can only expect lower grade cars would have zero value in Japan at that time.

Especially if it's not taken care of (washing, scratches or dents being left, kept outside etc) I remember being in a van on Tory Island once that resembeled lots of the v rusty but still intact stuff there.. apparently it was clean when they brought it over 4 or 5 years earlier.. but it lived a hard few yrs, often parked litterally on the harbour dock and I saw ropes from the boats stacked on the roof one time 😅

I took the car back to bare metal expecting to find some hidden rust, I think all up I found two small spots of spider rust and the rest was super straight. Glad it’s nothing like Okinawa here in NZ or this FC would be long dead. SAVE THE FCS!

I'm not really shocked at this at all. These cars back in there day were practically economony or cheap tuner performance cars. If you look at the condition of running examples of today, a lot of them they are literally shitboxes. The supra in the bush is a good example. It's a 1990s cheap performance car, almost 50,000 of them were made and you can bet 90% of that number are low spec shitboxes. The only cars that really stand out here are the GTRs because those cost an absolute fortune back in their day, and most likely only wound up here because it would have been cheaper to buy another used one than fix a bent frame.

Japan machine development in the 1980s and 1990s very rare models were processed aluminum with metal. To make stainless steel. Japan very rarely has a model anywhere else in the world in the country. The rest of the models were assembled by pure metal construction machines in Japan. Calculate 40 years passed, 30 years popular models Nissan Toyota Mitsubishi Honda Mazda other models for ordinary metal structures Corrosion rusted very quickly.... I know Japan is mechi that restores good old cars for sports. The only reason is it rusts a lot. Japanese machines do not process all parts after assembly. There were problems with the anti-corrosion deficiency of the primer. The cars look good on the outside, but unfortunately they are rusting on the inside. In rare models, the owners of passports process the internal structure of their anti-corrosion agents.

It's really a pity to watch some legendary models rusted metal into dust... Unfortunately, but this is also a business plan, give the machines 5-10 years and the metal has already rusted into dust. For the Japanese to produce the next models of cars. I have studied metal and non-metal processing. Looking at the models, it is possible to restore thistle. Reconstruction is possible. 50% to 50%. The car bodies must be completely cleaned of rust. Then the old metal has to be tempered for a few more years. Inside the metal micro particles flakes. Water and oxygen are added. The creation ignites the rust moisture water outside. Then, for welding work, it is immersed in a bath in anti-corrosion primer. Completely all processed.
