as a starting mechanic i can explain why the fog lights has to be 25 cm from the ground. As my teacher said if the car is lowered that would mean that the factory light setup is changed which means incase of wet road the passing people may get blinded even tho u cant see that but the effet would be there for others and u may cause a car crash. 25cm is ideal and perfect hight to avoid the reflection from wet ground but even I tought at first what the hell but as soon as my teacher started explaining i was like oh shh. Ofcourse there are other ways to explain in better terms but I just explained in the most simple way possible hope that clear everyones mind

I live in New Zealand and I have a lowered 2002 Toyota altezza and they don't pick on the lights or anything it's strange the random rules of Japan and will definitely be buying the whole family a daiki shirt each he's such a humble soul wish there were more people like him in the world ❤

Yep FYI sammit, here in Spain, if u put coilovers or low your car there are few rules, one of them is the fog light should be 25 cm high from ground. And to put the coilover or somthing else you have to pay an engineer to check it a mechanic that give u a paper like the coilovers are nice installed and pay an extra inspection, is a pain in the ass u have to pay for everything plus the money that the mod cost u, is horrible

Sam, here is Washington State fog lights have to be a certain height off the ground too. The reason for this is that the light will reflect off the ground and blind on coming drivers. I got pulled over for having illegal fog lights back in 2000 for a set of aftermarket lights I had installed on my Hyundai.

Fog lights produce a short but wide beam spread which falls close to the car. If they are too low they don't properly illuminate the road ahead. Inspections are very lax here in Kentucky, but they have to be done by a off duty officer who is paid in cash only. They are only there weird hours, they leave early and for lunch with no warning all the time. It's tough to get a car inspected when you work for a living. Took me 4 tries once with a vehicle I had bought out of state to actually get a officer there when they were supposed to be there. Guess its a struggle everywhere.

Luckily for us in Norway we don’t have to struggle as much, the rules of staging up your engine is, if you increase your hp/kw you’re stopping power has to equal to the same as original or if you can document that a spec car version of your car is the same specs

Get well Sam. Bureaucracy is the enduring gift from the west. Japan definitely picked up the ball and ran with it. Some strange US inspection laws include a ban on yellow fog lights in New York and a minimum as well as a maximum bumper height in Virginia. A friend of mine with a '32 Ford hot rod runs it without a front bumper because the stock location for the bumper is too low to pass inspection in Virginia. Get the housing and enjoy the S15. Finish up the OG 33.5 and shaken the Z to clear the shop. This way, you are down to a big project and maybe one or two small ones as a change of pace. Good luck to youand Daiki!

About the foglight situation... They have the same rules in Norway, but here we even have rules about the fog lights not beeing to high off the ground, wich comes to play with lifted suv's and such..

I went through shaken with an old Mini and had to tape on temporary crappy plastic fender extensions to get move the fender edge beyond the edge of the wheel since they were wider. And we had to remove the after market side marker lights since the blink pattern did not exactly match stock side lights. The car was lowered and had led fog lights, but Kanagawa did not care that was lowered. And yes it was under 25cm. I have no idea why they say the things they do for shaken but its like rolling the dice every time when the car is not stock.

I have the same truck, window winder handle is a pretty standard part, they tend to strip out. You can just replace by popping out the circlip and swap out. Also, you may be a bit sick with something called epstein barr virus. It pops up when you wear your body out. Foggy head, sore joints, massive fatigue, no energy etc.

in finland we have to get our car inspected every year they check the whole car and you get fault list (everything you have to fix) then you go back when all the faults are fixed and get it reinspected

I'm glad that the Crown will pass cook. Getting a car titled here in Texas (at least) is kind of like that. Very frustrating and they won't tell they you everything that is wrong and only one step at a time. I like the update to all of the cars and I'm looking forward to seeing them put back together. For the OG pink S15, I vote for putting it back together and enjoy it for some time then building it however you like later. It's been out of the game for way too long.

In the UK, lights need to be a certain height to have the beam in the correct place while driving. Don't think it covers fog light though. Personally. I would get the og s15 sorted to be back on the road with aero and fix the rest when you have less projects at the same time. Get the 33.4 running so you have two fun road cars to choose between and then work on the abandoned s15 with all the things you are learning. You can always fix the OG s15 while the abandoned one is getting something done. Get better soon dude, always enjoy the content. Also, idea for GS drink name....drift breathing. In the entire European Union (which UK isn't a part of anymore) there is a standardized rule that these foglights have to be mounted between 25 cm and 80 cm off the ground. It's measured not from the lowest edge of the casing of the light but from the "light emission edge". I read in a forum if you are missing 2 cm you can just put a black sticker on it and it's fine. So yeah, not just Japan with this rule so it has some technical background. I just didn't find anything that explained why this rule exists.

In the UK our cars are tested every year after the first 3 years of registration. So long as the lights fitted work properly alls good. And your car can be heavily modded and lowered.

Talking about the Yashio Factory S15, i would complete the build before sending it to Okuchan to get the kit. If all the internals and things you want to change are done and the new kit is fitted, you can enjoy it straight away and not partially enjoy it but still need to work on it. But thats just how i see it. Excited to see what you'll do!

Check eastwood internal frame paint for after the patch panels are welded in to prevent the return of rot. They have special hoses/nozzles that coat hard to reach areas. Weld thru primer still burns off during welding and can rust down the road

Don't sweat that tank. They are around 10 mm thick. Outer layer is black and inner is white. I'd only worry if you see white 😅 We've cut loads up in the past. They're pretty sturdy. Love the shirts.

In logistics we always have a saying.. How do you eat an elephant? By one piece at a time. The best thing is to work out what's easiest to hardest and start from there to give yourself some feeling of accomplishment and push yourself further. My advice is get the og S15 done slapped together and enjoy it then the r33.4. Get the Bogan 32 off to the track and get the stag out of there, tidy up the place and your thoughts and then push on with the abandoned S15. And for a new car do something old school i.e. 60's, 70's early 80's... A cool Datsun with a L series motor would be 🔥

I totally feel your pain Sam I live in a state here in the US Rhode Island and every two years we have to get a state inspection and it’s very difficult if you’re a car and Theseus and have a modified car you have to have all of your factory sensors computers and catalytic converter but you can still get it inspected if it’s modified I currently have a 500 hp and 479 feet pound a torque civic that passes my state inspection legally

Just imagine getting into a 30km/h crash that you would easily survive but because the vip table is there when the airbag goes off it becomes a fatal crash because of it. Good thinking from the inspectors, I’m sure they’ve encountered some horror stories from vip tables assaulting people in the passenger seat during minor crashes. Definitely sad to see it go but safety is #1 priority. A wise Russian man once lived by those words💪🏽💪🏽

Car regulations are a pain in Japan... Germany: "hold my beer". In Japan it's waaay more chill than in Germany. 😂 We have those funny regulations, too (And even more). And no one understands it. God forbid the car is "too low". If there are changes which aren't writen into your car papers, police can basically take your car away and you have to pay roundabout 2k $ to get it back. In Finland you have to inspect your car every year and they tell on END of inspection all the parts your car is failing, then you got like 30days to fix them and they check those fails. But that is just dumb if they wount tell you ALL the fails at once??

Just a thought, is it legal to have a actual inspector do a pre inspection ,so that you don't need to do as many trips, you are trying to follow the rules, if you can find a inspector and do most of the stuff that would knock you back before you go, you'll still need to pass the emissions test stuff at the actual inspection but you could save time
