100%. A 400-600hp street Supra would be absolutely perfect. Will still be fairly reliable and driveable everyday.

And preserve it for decades. It seems like the car Sam should be going to pass onto his kids as an heirloom with the backstory from their grandfather.
@CuriousGamer0223 күн бұрын
@@Gobbbbbeven that's too much for a street car,more around 350 would be the sweet spot for a reliable street car that isn't gonna try and kill u
@Gobbbbb3 күн бұрын
@@CuriousGamer022 Idk, I'll politely disagree. Only because 350 is not much more than the stock power. These cars will handle 400-500 wheel hp absolutely no problem and will still drive like a normal car, not trying to kill you. Just look up some street setups running that power, it's insane how over-engineered this car was back in the day. Plus his has nice fat tyres too. I'm not trying to be a Supra fanboy, they are just really good cars. A bit overrated, but still really good. He needs the original wing tho, I'm not into this one lol.

Congrats on being in the right place/time to make the dream come true.... I was like this in 2003 when I came home and had all that deployment money saved and bought a mint 20k mile 92 LT1 6spd Corvette. I had always wanted a Corvette, since I was about 6-7yrs old when my Dad took me to help one of his best friends work on his 66 427 4spd. The C4 was one of my fav generations as it was the Corvette from the time I grew up and started driving and it was attainable where as C2/C3 big block cars just were impossible for a younger Marine to afford..... I enjoyed road tripping and racing that 92 for many years. Built a serious 500 to the wheel 383 out of the LT1... I've since owned 5 more Corvettes and currently own a 72 LS5 454 and my 84 drag car (that I will never sell). I'll never forget the feeling of first seeing that 92 and knowing it was my car.... dropping the clutch and power shifting it at the drag strip the first time easily besting the published 1/4 mile times. I still get that feeling cruising twisty back roads in the fall with my wife in the 72 and everytime my brother and I pull my 84 into the burnout box a big race.... sometimes after the run I just sit there strapped in the car alone on the big end of the track and thank God for being able to enjoy the privilege. I will say a prayer for your Dad... I hope he gets to see and ride in your Supra. I know how much my Dad coming to the track with me and my brother mean to me.

Congratulations on your dream car, unfortunately I'm selling mine. I knew it when you first started talking that it was a MK4 Supra. Get your dad put there, I lost mine at 20 years old and never got the chance to share my passion for cars with him, he passed away from cancer after 2 years of Chemo. If you need to rebuild the motor, it won't be done in a week I'm afraid, unless you've got a machine shop on speed dial and all the parts on hand. It took me around 6 months to fully rebuild my Supra. Check con rod bearings, check if the crank is straight. Check cam shaft bearings. Get rid of the F-con V piggyback, mine had that too. Make sure you have a new standalone ecu and wiring harness made up if you want to properly tune her to prevent any damages again in future. Replace all hoses and lines as these are old.

I felt this on a very emotional level. It’s me with my 79 bronco and both my parents. My dads had two heart attacks now at the age of 51 and my mom’s health has been so up and down for the last 13 years of my life. They wound up giving me the bronco when I was 14 but me being young I wanted one I could beat on and go do stupid things with. We kept the 79 and it became our family rig. After they divorced my dad gave it back to me again and I’ve had the hardest time working on it because of their health and the divorce due to the memories it brings up. I really need to finish it so they can both drive it or atleast ride in it before the inevitable happens. This one brought some emotions to the table for me also. Get your dad out there and get it done. Everything needs to take a back burner to this car.
