I miss concerts when they were mostly in arenas. They were loud and you could feel the music through your body. Something gets lost in amphitheaters and stadiums, and it's just not the same. Not to mention the big amphitheater in my area is Jiffy Lube Live which is Hell on earth to get in and out of. Traffic is insane. It has to be the worst concert venue ever. And is that Pat from Train? I saw Train at a private corporate gig in Washington D.C 8 or 9 years ago. It was at a big Hotel and they opened up about 3 of the convention rooms. I managed to squeeze my way up to the front. They surprised me, they were good. Pat seemed to be in a bit of a mood. He was cracking on people pretty hard. He pulled a woman onstage to sing, and then he pretty much kicked her off, saying "Get off my stage!" I guess he was joking around but it didn't come off that way. He was being a bit harsh more than a few times. I don't know if their usual guitarist, the bald guy couldn't make it, or he left the band, but he wasn't there. It was a young black guy playing in his place. I don't know who he was. Still good though. I enjoyed it.

Is it just me that doesn't feel Joe in this role? He an enigma and has carved his own sound and style for decades. Can anyone really do EVH? Honest questions my friends. Like Zakk doing Dime?? Maybe Nuno would have been more suited? Hey, I'm loving hearing Michael's beautiful backing vocals. Can't argue about that. ❤
@WKFS5 ай бұрын
I thought Joe *sounded* great. The tone & style worked for me. But I'm not really a technical guitar person or in any position to critique. I also feel that the sound flying through the air that night is not fully captured in my video. That includes the vocals. I enjoyed Zakk in that role when I saw Pantera (Legacy) last year. FWIW, I saw the original Pantera lineup multiple times between the VDoP and FBD tours. And yes, Michael Anthony sounded fantastic singing that night.
