I watch a lot of travel videos, but this is one of my favorites. I love how you keep it so real. The last thing I need is to see people who make it look always easy and spend too much time making themselves look unrealistically perfect. You all look beautiful AND real in this vlog adventure. Loved my first visit to the Amalfi coast ❤ we stayed in Sorrento and had a private tour of the coast. Our driver was awesome and had all the hookups for parking and lunch. He even gave us his contact info for future trips. We also went to Ravello vs Amalfi due to the enormous crowds. This was the last week of September. I have never in my life seen so many people. Such an unbelievably beautiful place. Hope to get back there one day soon. Really enjoyed your video.

Well done Sammy and Tommy. My wife and I just returned from five days in Positano (Sept. 25-29) and loved it. Interestingly, we experienced hardly any annoying crowds. We literally walked right into the cathedral in Amalfi. Apart from one funicular ride on Capri we really had no long lines or terrible crowds - sometimes there were a lot of people out, but it wasn't as if we felt cramped or pushed around, and watching this video you will notice that even "busy" streets were accessible and not nuts. My two cents - Praiano is a bit closer to Amalfi and Positano, and like Vico it's relatively small, quiet and cheap. Also, if you take the ferry to the Island of Capri (which I'd recommend) take a cab or the funicular to Anacapri, the smaller and less crowded town on the island. Finally, PLEASE don't be an ugly American - learn some basic Italian for hello, thank you, excuse me, etc. Enjoy!

Your photography of the Almalfi Coast was fantastic! Could not believe the huge crowds of tourists in October. I guess that will be the rule now since the summers are too hot to be in Europe. But you managed to show that you could appreciate Europe, if one avoided the touristy towns for the smaller towns. The visit to Pompeii was very impressive too.

The Amalfi Coast is a stunning place! It is popular for a reason. I went last July and I felt like it was the busiest in Amalfi town, where we arrived at around 5pm after our hike from Maiori through Sentiero dei Limoni, Minori, Ravello and Atrani. I personally didn't find any of these places, but Amalfi town overcrowded. That's a place you need to go really early in the morning, if you want to enjoy it more.

I usually head that way sometime from mid April to the beginning of May, and stay until the beginning of June. This year I will be going early too, (mid March), but will be in Sicily for the first 2 weeks before heading to Sorrento, so, earlier than usual! It can be a bit coolish in early April for sure, so pack some layers along with a good windbreaker, especially needed on the ferries going back and forth if you like to sit up top- outside like I do! I am not sure everything will be completely open by then, but they will be starting, if they are not. Many place along the Amalfi coast are closed all winter until spring....but flowers will be starting to bloom, and I think you will fall in love with the area. I DO prefer spring to fall here, because of the crowds. I usually head north to Venice, Lake Garda/ Lake Como for the fall, so you might want to try that next trip!

We were on the coast 9.28-10.4 and stayed in Seino/Vico Equense but at the Grand Hotel Angiolieri (which was amazing.) Luke you guys, the crowds were too much. We took a ferry to Capri (very confusing when we had to switch ferries but was not told when we purchased tickets.) We hired a private driver for everywhere else. On our drive along the coast, we opted out of walking around Positano. Amalfi was miserable crowded and we loved Ravello! Especially the villas. We toured Herculaneum instead of Pompeii (no crowd). We also visited Reggia Caserta and loved it. I would do it all over again. And I can't imagine May-Early September crowds.

You set your own schedule and can avoid crowds and driving Amalfi is fun too! If you hang out with tourists, then you ARE a tourist! If you have your own car you can seek out local areas of each famous town along the coast and slightly inland also… we experienced how it is to live there doing it our way…. My friends!?!? They were so glad and happy I advised them… instead of a two day excursion, they spent 4 days exploring at their won pace and choices.

But when you do want to explore using Public Transport, don't have multiple Activities planned, just do 1 or 2 things, that will make the stress lowered drastically

We visited Sorrento for a few days in August, back in 2016, it was very pleasant and although reasonably busy, it was by no means over crowded. Wow, what a difference when we stayed in Sorrento in late September in 2023! The crowds were just ridiculous. Prices had shot up too. Sadly we won't be returning, which is a shame, but my idea of a great holiday doesn't include queues and crowds of people everywhere.
