Just completed 800km’s today between Richards Bay through all the Drakensberg passes all the way to Nylstroom Limpopo and I reckon 1 of the things that kept me and my fam safe and awake between the 100’s of coal trucks on the road was the thought and knowledge that by the time I get my family home safe I can sit back and watch a Sammy fishing adventure!! Pure gold mate!

I've fished off shore most of my 58yrs of life. This was the best fishing trip I've watched in my life. Everything you would want to experience. I could fill the page with everything about it. The sea, weather, sunsets, fishing, and even the engine situation. Trip of a lifetime IMO. I don't care what people think. Electric reels for reef fishing are golden. Even at 150-200m much less 560m! Those reels look like the Ferrari of electric reels. Mine are old school setups.

I have raced on Racing yachts where you push absolutely everything to breaking point. But an about turn, note down compass direction, then head out note date & time, fuel level, boat speed eta of arrival at destination. Id get the guys there by morning when they get up.. Note time again of arrival & fuel level. when they fish id probably kip for a couple of hours. Then arrange lunch. Hopefully fresh fish & for me a cup of tea. Booze & sea dont mix for me. Once when we were way out we started to overheat because the water pump impeller veins towards one end started to come apart. Unfortunately, we used the spare in the toolbox when we were on a friend's boat. My dad had the idea to take out the impeller and put it in the other way around. Thankfully, it worked like a charm. As soon as we hit the dock we bought 2 spare impellers for the toolbox. Awesome video guys!

I do enjoy fishing, but I'd take a pass on the deep jigging. From living at 815 psi it's whole life, to then sudenly be drawn up to sea level 14.7 psi in minutes; the fish are toast and likely suffered immensely. You can see the last blue-eye's eye popping out of it's head.

Fish do not have pain receptors like humans and other animals do. All Fish have an entirely different physiology, if you knew about Fish, which apparently you do not. Fish that are drawn up from deep depths to surface pressures give into shock and thus are not in any excruciating pain. By the time they reach the surface they are numb from shock. Bleeding the fish out is what eventually kills the fish. This is a humane kill, no different than how Tuna are killed and shelved on your local grocery shelves.
@itkovian112 жыл бұрын
@@BulletsForTeeth5029 At the anatomical level, fish have neurons known as nociceptors, which detect potential harm, such as high temperatures, intense pressure, and caustic chemicals. Fish produce the same opioids-the body’s innate painkillers-that mammals do. And their brain activity during injury is analogous to that in terrestrial vertebrates: sticking a pin into goldfish or rainbow trout, just behind their gills, stimulates nociceptors and a cascade of electrical activity that surges toward brain regions essential for conscious sensory perceptions (such as the cerebellum, tectum, and telencephalon), not just the hindbrain and brainstem, which are responsible for reflexes and impulses.
@pizzawhisker2 жыл бұрын
@@BulletsForTeeth5029 It's not up to a person to determine the level of pain a fish feels. Unless you can talk with an animal, there is no way for you to know how it processes sensory input.

@@itkovian11 A mate and myself once brought in the same Lesser Spotted Dogfish (boat, South Wales, UK). It had taken my bait, got hooked, broke loose a grip lead... swam about 25m across the flow of the tide and then took my mate's bait. I can only conclude that the fish was not in pain/distress from being hooked... but dry hands, bad handling, high temps and changes in pressure are without doubt detrimental..
