The Gospel hymns and messages translated into the native tounge gets the message across powerfully and better understanding and responses. In my country Papua New Guine where there is close to 1000 tribes and more than 800 different languages and English is the 2nd language translation is handy. A mountain of a job but is happening. 👍👊👏💟

The song acknowledges Christ is my joy because He loves me, He saved me and my heart is therefore with with Him, my Saviour and Redeemer. Glory to God. Thank you for the selection. This may be six years on, but the power of this hymn is so full of truth and liberating it is one of the most treasured of Samoan hymns. Most treasured when you are away from home and about to embark on a journey, you sing in faith and respect knowing that you are under His wing. No matter what happens the truth remains, you are HIS.

Gegard - there has been no such place as Western Samoa since 1997 anyway. It’s now called the Independent State of Samoa, or Independent Samoa, or just Samoa for short. Besides, there are many Am. Samoan soldiers who are from Independent Samoa or whose parents are from Independent Samoa. After all, all Am. Samoans have ties to independent Samoa, since we share the same history, culture and origins.

If it weren’t for America, the Pacific islands, including Samoa, would have been conquered by Japan during WWII. Americans were stationed on both Tutuila and Upolu. Stop being ignorant. By the way, I was born in America, but grew up in Tutuila, where my mom is from, but my dad is from Upolu. So a part if my life was spent in Upolu too.

L.M.S which is where the E.F.K.S church derives from was the first Christian denomination started in Sāmoa. It is I belive 113 years old now, 192 years since the arrival of the Gospel (Talalelei). Every Samoan would know E.F.K.S hymns because at one point all our family and ancestors were part of the Traditional Samoan church. Many pentecostal churches (S.A.O.G) still sing these hymns.

@@isaialeuila9327 I learned the lms hymns in school, not at home or anywhere.
