@@moefaanonoamaiava8949That's also true for us palagi people who grew up on the islands and ran into Samoan people in the US. I happened upon a group of Samoan people in Las Vegas during a July 4th celebration, and once they learned that I'm from Tutuila, we immediately became friends. As I bounced between the two groups, one of my newfound Samoan usos offered to beat up a guy who was making jokes at my expense. I told the uso no, on the grounds that the guy was my friend and just poking fun. The moral of the story is that Samoan usos (brothers, for those of you reading this that don't understand Samoan), will always look out for their own, even when the person is "adopted" into the Samoan culture. To my usos, fa'afetai lava from a palagi who was born on Tutuila.

Highest rate "per capita", it makes a big difference. If there were only two Lakota Sioux fighting in that war and one was killed, then one could say that 50% of the Lakota Sioux were killed. Whereas if you had 100,000 white guys fighting, 50,000 would have to die for the same 50% loss number. Numbers are like people, torture them long enough and they will say what you want to hear. This in no way takes away from my Samoan brothers, badasses one and all. Happiest, most loyal, honest, moral people on planet Earth. If you love them, then you will love them forever. If you fight against them, forever will come to you very fast.

cool, and the first song? what is his meaning?
@redeemedstone10 жыл бұрын
CSU Schlawiener It's an old folk song about a group of guys caught out in detention for breaking curfew while watching their classmates graduate from seminary school (In the Islands back in the day, it's like being suspended from Harvard Law). They were suspended for a year so were singing in protest that the judgment was so harsh. They found death was more acceptable. If you've known disappointment and you want to encourage a Brother this is the song that you sing together.

filipino here and i love the samoan culture. i have been researching the samoan culture for the past month. i love their simple life but their food selection do not seem to be diverse. the ingredients just revolve around taro, breadfruit, coconut and bananas. also the men are big but i also learned obesity and diabetes is on the rise because of growing dependence on SPAM and lamb imports from New Zealand. i hope the government of samoa can do something about the obesity and diabetes problems of samoa before its too late. my bucket list before i die is to visit the beautiful island of samoa and go to the Polynesian cultural center. from your austrinesian brother in the Philippines 🇵🇭 🇼🇸

I want to add to this comment. I am a palagi from New Zealand. If I spent a month researching anyone, including my Samoan Bros, I wouldn't watch the people who serve their country and the world who are singing and stirring up my whole heart admiration appreciation and love... and THEN write a blatantly ignorant comment about their diet and a health issue. I don't know much, but I have eaten food very generously shared by Tongans and Fijians, and Wow is it beautiful and healthy.. I love all the different things like kossava, yams, taro leaves, coconut cream, raw fish, watermelon, pineapple, and wow, pork cooked on the fire!!! I am constantly given food by Fijians and once a Tongan neighbour made a feast for me and my family, including a pig cooked on a spit. How lucky I am to live in a place with not only the beautiful tangata whenua but also the island people of the Pacific!!!! I have decided now to learn more about these beautiful people. By the way, I bet all these soldiers here look after their families, get by with less than I do, and are more joyful, generous and full of faith than I will ever ❤️ be. I bet they are great at playing rugby and supporting the game. When Samoa is playing rugby here, my whole city is on fire with high vibes and red flags. Next time I eat off a Crown Lynn plate, I will remember that a hardworking, poorly paid Samoan probably made it. Thankyou Samoa! Thankyou young men who have warmed my heart today!!!

I have seen these video so many times. I don't understand nothing, because I'm portuguese, but it doesn't matter,. It's contagious. I love it.

I just came across this wonderful video. Thank you for posting it. Please delete the disgraceful negative comments. These solders deserve to be respected.

Steve, you can't delete the disgraceful comments because of freedom of speech rights. That's what the troops fight for , it doesn't make it right though. America has it's problems but I would not want to live anywhere else in the world. There are always people that hate and the only thing you can do is hope they find peace in their life.
